Wow, what a game today. I'm heartbroken by the loss - we had them beat - but thrilled that we took a top 15 team to the brink in arguably the toughest place to play in college football. Terry Bowden is starting to pull this program out of the hole Rob Ianello put them in.

Some Negatives From Today:

- Not going for it on 4th and 1 and missing a field goal was huge. Akron had momentum - you have to play aggresive to upset a team like Michigan.

- The no-call in the 2nd quarter on the blatant pass interference cost the Zips at least 3 points.

- The INT in the red zone. Why not run?

Some Positives (aside from taking Michigan to the edge):

- Kyle Pohl (Sophomore), L.T. Smith (Junior), and Zach D'Orazio (Sophomore) all looked great.

- The defense did a wonderful job getting Gardner out of his rhythm for most of the game.

- The Zips lost this one more than Michigan won it...hopefully they fix some things and make some noise in the conference this year

GO ZIPS!

Zips might win that game with better coaching, I thought Bowden made a couple boneheaded calls that cost them
