TRADE

The Houston Texans trade the #1 pick in the 2014 RCF Draft to the Cleveland Browns

#1 & #101 from Houston for #4 and #35 from Cleveland.

With the first pick in the draft, the Cleveland Browns select....

Blake Bortles, Quarterback, University of Central Florida

The Browns feel that they've got a bargain in this draft, having only needing to give up #35 to move up and assure that they get their player. Bortles gives the Browns elite size at the QB position, something they've seemed to lack for over a decade. While defense and skill players were also in the mix here, the Browns believe that their stout defense will allow Bortles, if called upon to play, to play to what the defense gives him. The Browns had some hesitancy going with a QB this early because of the assumed pressure; however, having a solid team coupled with a veteran QB will ease that. All not to mention that the Browns haven't taken a top-10 QB since Tim Couch....

Also... Cleveland just got hotter...

The St. Louis Rams and Be Nimble are on the clock.

Atlanta looking to trade up or down. Listening to all offers.

Oakland looking to move up or down

Re: On The Clock: 2014 RCF Mock Draft

Since we're waiting now, it seems like a good time to go over the time-limits here.

Each poster will get ample time to make their pick, but if someone goes a work-day and an evening without acknowledging their status, and someone hasn't made their 1st round selection, that pick will be made for them and I'll give a more frequent poster their remaining pick(s). Lets keep it moving.

Re: On The Clock: 2014 RCF Mock Draft

Are we doing a full 7 round mock here?

No. We have problems with getting people to show up for more than one pick, let alone 7+. If you wanted to do one with us frequent posters, I'd consider doing a few rounds, but after the 3rd round, you really ought to be stepping up the analysis or you're just picking for name/school/position. The value begins to drop because we don't have a lot of info.

Ok, just curious for trade reasons.
