'14 RCF Mock Draft: RD 3 Detroit Lions (mofire)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: On The Clock: 2014 RCF Mock Draft

I would be so livid if the Browns made that trade. Absolute waste of 2 draft picks when you have a once in a generation talent still on the board.

Re: On The Clock: 2014 RCF Mock Draft

If you want him, offer me trades. There's no way I'm passing on him and leaving him on the board...

With the 2nd Pick, The St. Louis Rams select Jadeveon Clowney, DL South Carolina

Despite the Rams being ranked 30th in offense in 2013, the temptation to pass on a once in a generation talent like Clowney was too much. With Clowney on board, the Rams will strengthen their already young defense and add another dynamic pass rusher next to Robert Quinn, who posted 19 sacks in 2013, and Chris Long. Armed with picks 13 and 44, the Rams can afford the luxury of Clowney while looking to upgrade their offense throughout the draft.

With the 3rd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, The Jacksonville Jaguars select:

Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

For a team just moving on from the failed Blaine Gabbert experiment, Manziel presents an opportunity for a Jacksonville team on the upswing to get immediately better at the starting quarterback position. While some may question his off field antics, there's no denying that "Johnny Football" has star power, and can give instant credibility to a franchise struggling to find an identity. Chad Henne hasn't shown any starting ability in his career, and without veteran running back Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jags desperately need someone with the ability to take over games. That's Manziel. He is the hero Jacksonville needs right now. With Disney just a stone's throw from Jacksonville, it's a match made for the big screen.

Could be a money move...

Am I glad you're not running the Browns draft then.

Moving up to #1 to get your guy, while keeping #26 and getting an extra pick to boot? Sign me up yesterday..

FYI: I'll keep the thread title updated as often as I can, with who's on the clock.

I didn't have much interest in the trade early because Cosmo was asking a bit much and I saw a lot of fits at #4. Then he came back with that deal.. yada yada yada, shout out to Cosmo for making me look like I know what I'm doing :chuckles:

Re: On The Clock: 2014 RCF Mock Draft

I apologize for the delay, the city of Houston and myself were sobbing in the corner after Johnny Football was drafted.

With the 4th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the Houston Texans select

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Bill O'Brien scoops up the most polished QB of the draft to develop as his first selection as the Texans head coach. Bridgewater doesn't have the strongest arm in the draft, but he makes up for it with pinpoint accuracy to all areas of the field. He's also well versed in making pre-snap audibles, he's been deciding the play call since his sophomore year. He's free to audible out of any formation, and also calls out offensive line protections. Simply put, Bridgewater's extensive time at the head of a pro-style offense has him ready to make an immediate impact in the NFL.

2011: 2,129 passing yards on 191-296 (64.5 completion %), 14 TDs, 12 INTs

2012: 3,718 passing yards on 287-419 (68.5 completion %), 27 TDs, 8 INTs

2013: 3,970 passing yards on 303-427 (70.9 completion %), 31 TDs, 4 INTs

On the clock, the Oakland Raiders

The Browns trading up on RCF Mock Draft is a jinx. Did we not learn from RGIII two years ago?

I couldn't gouge the Brownies after what Minny did to us to move up a single spot a few years ago. Houston already lynched me for passing on Johnny Football, it wouldn't make a difference even if I got your next 5 first rounders.

I'm willing to listen to trade offers...I'm at work so I'll check back in at 7, if no good offers, I'll make my pick

Re: 2014 RCF Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders (JMcCurry08)

4 picks in and 3 QBs off the board. interesting.

Not only that, but pretty sure it is gonna take more than that to trade from #4 to #1.

With the 5th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select

Derek Carr, QB Fresno State
derek-carr-oakland-raiders-2014-nfl-draft.jpg

The Raiders have been a disaster of a franchise since appearing Super Bowl in 2003. They've been looking for the franchise QB since then as well. Derek Carr can be the next franchise QB. He has one of, if not the strongest arm in the draft and can make all the NFL throws. He does have the last name Carr which could have teams scared off. Having Matt Schaub will allow Carr to sit and learn for his first year and work on his weaknesses before taking over in 2015

The Atlanta Falcons are now on the clock
