15th Roster Spot?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well if they could learn a bizzare two man chucking game with T.T,Love, or Mozgov In the middle I would take that chance. A healthy and motivated Robinson is going to be like Smith is now, make you think for the better.

So, you're saying that between Robinson and JR, at least one chucker will be on any given game?

Not the worst strategy. Can they maybe send someone to Canton and bring on Dalembert to balance the defensive side?

The defense side is what you see now. Start off big and go small, thus Mozgov becomes such a gem. He will do everything the dirty work needs. In other words Mozgov is to the start as LeBron is the the finish. It means a rotation is being set and a plan is in place. Rejoice the time has come.

Not how sending players to the D League works. Still are on the Cavs roster. A player has to be waived for Nate and Dalembert to both come here.

You guys really need to stop talking about Shaun Livingston. He had no desire of staying here.

Well, not the 15th spot but...

Jordan Farmar - G - Clippers

The Cavs have interest in Jordan Farmar.

Apparently, the Cavs aren't comfortable with Matthew Dellavedova backing up the oft-injured Kyrie Irving, who has already battled back spasms once this season. Farmar's value will not be great in Cleveland and he'd be much better off with the Lakers.

He also has ties with Cavaliers coach David Blatt, playing for Blatt in 2011 with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

yes please. farmar would be a great, great pickup.

i'm still a little wary about the big man rotation and would like them to pickup another solid big, but at the same time you can't wait on these bigs forever especially with multiple contenders pursuing them. pg is a need and farmar fills it well. i think they should go for him, then still try to work out something for another big by using delly or whatever else.

If you want to try to build a culture and talk about players buying into the system, Farmar looks to be a good fit. Can he still play though? Last I remember hearing of him was when he was on the Nets lighting up the Cavs from 3.

He actually had a very nice season last year for the Lakers when he got good playing time.

Signed with Clippers, but he's not a fit there. Not sure if this is the reason, but Farmar is not a defensive whiz. My first thought was "oh no, not another" but the 2nd unit could actually use some scoring punch.

I recognize why another PG would help, but Love's back issues seem like another good reason to pursue a backup big.

Perhaps they could get both if they're willing to trade either Harris or Haywood (or both) to free up another roster space.

Most definitely, and I would think that even without seeing Love virtually unable to walk.

If the big they want isn't out there, or if they think a better option will be available closer to the deadline or even on the buyout market, they really need to bring someone in on a ten day contract. Jeff Adrien is available and would be serviceable.

Now that they have Mozgov, I think it's less urgent that they get another true center. I think a PF or a PF/C would be fine. Really, anyone who can play a bit.

Of course, a minor trade would be brilliant, if Griffin is able to pull one off.

Changed my mind. I thought before that we should first get a backup center and maybe a perimeter defender (Prince) before adding other pieces (like another point guard).

Now I feel that the first step is probably going to be a backup point guard and I think that will be best. Farmar is not a great player but he's big, he can shoot, and he has championship experience. And he has played for Blatt before, like Mozgov.

We have to keep Kyrie off the ball most of the time to be at our best. So if LeBron isn't playing point, we need someone else besides Delly to handle that duty.

If we're not going to ditch Harris or one of LeBron's guys, and we only get to add one piece, then it should probably be Farmar or another backup point guard not named Nate Robinson.

Our roster still needs a backup center desperately, but getting a backup point is probably the best choice we can make now.

Anything to keep Delly at sub-10 minutes a game.

Jordan Farmar on stint with Clippers: 'It just wasn't a great fit'

On paper, initially it looked really good. It was different in reality ... . So that's why at the end of the day, we both agreed mutually to go our separate ways. - Jordan Farmar
Farmar became expendable because of his subpar play this season and because the Clippers acquired combo guard Austin Rivers from Boston on Thursday in a three-team trade that sent Reggie Bullock to Phoenix and Chris Douglas-Roberts and a 2017 second-round draft pick to the Celtics. Boston also got forward Shavlik Randolph from Phoenix.

Farmar, 28, who didn’t play in the last Clippers’ game at Portland on Wednesday night, appeared in 36 games this season and averaged 4.6 points and 1.9 assists in 14.7 minutes.

He was shooting 38.6% from the field, 36.1% from three-point range.

“It just ended up not being a great fit,” Farmar said. “We both decided it was better off that we part ways.”

Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ coach and president of basketball operations and the father of Austin Rivers, signed Farmar last summer to the bi-annual exception of $4.2 million for two years.

Farmar’s job was to be the backup point guard behind Chris Paul after Darren Collison signed with the Sacramento Kings.

“I just never felt I had a real role,” Farmar said. “We talked in the offseason about what my job was going to be. The opportunity just wasn’t the same. It was never time for me to really ever get going and feel comfortable and feel like I had a place on the team.”

Farmar was asked if it was true that Rivers was hardest on the guard than anyone else on the team.

“You’re correct saying that,” Farmar said. “I would assume that. I’ve been doing this for a long time. For whatever reason, and I can’t really put my finger on it, but it just wasn’t a great fit. On paper, initially it looked really good. It was different in reality – I would probably say from both of our perspectives. So that’s why at the end of the day, we both agreed mutually to go our separate ways.”

Farmar has 48 hours to clear waivers, which would make him a free agent on Sunday with the ability to sign with any team.

Farmar was told that the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for an upgrade at backup point guard for Kyrie Irving.

Farmar said he played for Cleveland Coach David Blatt in Israel in 2011 when Blatt coached Maccabi Tel Aviv.

“It would be something for me to think about,” Farmar said about playing for the Cavaliers. “I definitely think I have a lot to offer. I think I could fit on that team, as well as a lot of teams. It’s just about, what is my job going to be? Am I going to be able to be myself?”

Yup... as much as the Cavs really, really need to get another big on this team, they need to get another backup point guard to take some more minutes away from Delly. He shouldn't be playing any more than 10-15 minutes a night.

They need another point guard AND another big man. I would suggest James Jones get bought out. I

I know he's Lebron's buddy, but he's sort of duplication of services with Mike Miller.

I'd really like to add a PG.

You look at the playoffs and finals the past couple years and backup PGs have had some huge roles.

Guys like JJ Barea in 2011, Norris Cole for the Heat, Patty Mills for the Spurs.

I'd take Farmar or Robinson. Leaning toward Farmar.

Even if it is just to give Delly some competition.
