2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Honestly I wish they'd just role with Holt and invest in pitching.

He can play all three OF spots above average, decent at the plate.
Holt has zero power. As much as Jason Tyner, only slower. Eric Wedge would have loved the shit out of him, he is the definition of a grinder. He is a 4th OFer defensive replacement, which isn't at all what Ryan Raburns roster spot is supposed to do. Obviously they need to seek out a replacement for Rayburn but to me they do different things n fill different roles. Murphy is the one manning his spot with the addition of that Oakland guy and I think the Tribe is actively seeking to move him.

I'm not asking him to hit for power, I'm asking him to get on base with much regularity and utilize his speed like he's done so well in the minors.

Oh, and go get it...be it in LF, CF or RF.

What kind of season should we expect from Kluber?

7-12 with a 4.75 ERA.

Record is obviously a better measuring stick of a pitcher's effectiveness than ERA or any other stat, but there you have it.

Indians apparently going after Brett Anderson (lefty).

I'd be incredibly bullish about Anderson, so long as Callaway is still here.

They have GOT to add another major league starter. Until Bauer, Salazar, Carrasco and House show they can continue the consistency from last season.

Any one of those guys can regress and you're left with Josh Tomlin as a long-term starter with not too many arms at the AA and AAA level.

Jimmy Rollins to the Dodgers.

All I want for Christmas is a quality right handed bat.

Another report popped up today about the Indians being one of the teams in on Alex Rios...indifferent on him after he put up poor power numbers in a hitters park in Texas, but he still put up a .325/.353./.545 slash vs LHP pitchers, even in a down power year.

I could see Rios signing and Murphy being shipped to bolster the bullpen or something. But I don't follow baseball much.

Is it too much of a pipe dream to have an outfielder rotation of Rios in left, Brantley in center, Moss in right, with Bourn as the fourth outfielder?

Yes it is... If we sign Rios though that means Bourn is gone I would assume.

Yes. They're not gonna pay Bourn all that money to be a fourth OF.

Pretty much what I'm expecting, along with another move or 2. OF would be getting pretty crowded if Rios signs.
