2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It wasn't too long ago that the Browns were looking for a spark after awful starts to the season. All 3 of these teams will be looking for the same. I would hold off on the powder toss 6-2 talk until these games are played.

We could easily lose all three if Hoyer decides to have a slump.

What the hell is this nonsense about Hoyer not signing long term if Johnny is on the roster?

Just for the sake of perspective, it's probably worth remembering where those storied 2013 Cleveland Browns were after 5 games. Coming off 3 straight wins including pretty good showings against Cinci and Buffalo. Then the wheels fell off...

The wheels were off because Hoyer got injured and the Browns replaced him with one of the worst QB's in NFL history

Not to mention, we had the corpse of Willis McGahee manning the ground game.

Agree. On paper it looks like we should have a good shot, but we are dealing with injuries now as well as expectations. I will be thrilled with 6-2 but still a lot of work to do. Give me an 8-8 season to build off of and I will be happy in all honesty.

Not to mention the Jags will be desperate and have their backs against the wall on Sunday.

The Jags are going to be like that every week. It's not different than any team they have played. As long as we play our football and don't get cute, we will be fine.

I agree, 8-8 will be nice to build off of. But winning 10 games is not out of the question at all with our schedule. I would rather aim high than aim for a few more wins to build off of.

We aren't the only team dealing with season-ending injuries and it could be a lot worse, IMO. Where are all the people who claimed center was a useless position in the offseason (re: Mack extension talks)?

NE just lost Mayo and Ridley, NYG lost Cruz, Cincy lost Marvin Jones, Miami - Knowshon, Chicago - Tillman, etc., etc.

Could be worse. We have depth in the trenches and our star receiver is coming back in 3 weeks (!). I'm bracing myself for 9-10 wins and a playoff berth. Cincy has injuries to its top 2 receivers, tight end, and running back, and so on.

Time to make our move.

I thought Gordon was returning Week 12.

Why do people on here keep saying Week 10.

They're wrong but understandably. He is out 10 games.

We will have played our 10th game in Week 11.

Look at our schedule the rest of the way

Next 3:
Jags
Raiders
Bucs

All should wins

@Cincy on a Thurs night could go either way. We typically play them tough. We could be riding a wave of emotion and kick the doors down.

vs Houston. Could possibly be packing it in by that time. They play Philly the week before and it may drain them a bit more than a typical game. J

@Atlanta then @Buffalo. Atlanta has a big game the week before, then 2 big games right after. I cant figure them out, but its winable if we can contain their passing game. Josh Gordon's Return should have an impact on both teams game plans!!! Buffalo should be a train wreck by then. Again winnable.

The Last Four:
Colts & Bengals at home.
At Carolina & Balt.

Again, we play the 1st two teams well. Only difference is this time, our passing game will be much improved, and our running game is on another level. If it snows, both teams will bow down to us because we can run the piss out of the ball, and they cant.

Carolina- Complete toss up.
Baltimore- Revenge game with possible bad weather. I like our chances.

I am going balls deep with this one 11-5

3 of the 13 analysts are from Ohio (Golic, Jackson, Carter). A 4th went to college in Ohio (Jaws). And this doesn't count Gruden, when is from Ohio as well.

Not to mention about 1/2 of their prominent college football analysts are Ohioans (Herbie, Howard, Holtz, Spielman, Blackledge, Robert Smith, Urban for a year, Joey Galloway).

If it wasn't for the state of Ohio, espin would be bereft of football analysts.
