2014 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So he was just another overhyped thing?

Not necessarily, just has to work on the command of his fastball and continue to develop his slider.

People forget he's still only 24, not like getting sent back to AAA was some sort of death sentence.

Going to the scrappers tonight. Was looking up who's pitching and stuff. Seen Love grove (think you guys have talked about him in here) went 4 2/3 4 hits 2 runs and 0 k's. Can someone quickly tell me who to look for and maybe why tonight. Makes these games much more entertaining. And if you want me to get a little scouting report on anyone I'd be happy to do so.

Bradley Zimmer- OF
Greg Allen- OF
Steven Patterson- 2B
Taylor Murphy- OF
Julian Merryweather- P
J.P. Feyereisen- P

All taken in the top 18 rounds this year. Zimmer was our top pick. Next highest was Allen in the 6th round.

Others:
Kieran Lovegrove and D'Vone McClure, 3rd and 4th rounders from 2012 who have been very disappointing.

The catcher Mejia may be the best prospect on that roster, including Zimmer.

Be ready to add Papi to that list fairly soon

Probably time to start talking about what Bobby Bradley is doing in the Arizona League.

As hitter friendly as that league is, when an 18-year-old comes in and does as well as he has it's going to raise some eyebrows.

.359/.431/.641 (1.073), 3 HR, 22 RBI, 7BB, 17K through his first 64 AB. Went 4-for-5 with a 2B, HR and 7 RBI last night as well.

Hope the kid is for real.

Mike Papi notched his first homer last night for Lake County. First of many, hopefully.

LOL If Dan Gilbert was owner they would have gotten the 1st one. Another failure by Dolan

Cool they got one again, though. Can't have too many draft picks. Now Antonetti has to go out and see what he has to do to get the one from the Marlins, they love to trade these picks.

Mike Papi notched his first homer last night for Lake County. First of many, hopefully.

Or not, one week later and that homer has been his only HIT for Lake County.

1-for-23 as a Captain.

Video of Francisco Lindor's two Huntington Park HRs tonight, apparently taken with some refurbished iPhones:

Not sure what hitting in that park will do for his actual development but at least the numbers look cool :chuckles:

Probably time to start talking about what Bobby Bradley is doing in the Arizona League.

As hitter friendly as that league is, when an 18-year-old comes in and does as well as he has it's going to raise some eyebrows.

.359/.431/.641 (1.073), 3 HR, 22 RBI, 7BB, 17K through his first 64 AB. Went 4-for-5 with a 2B, HR and 7 RBI last night as well.

Hope the kid is for real.

Update:

Bradley leads the Arizona League in batting average (.366), SLG, OPS (1.082), RBI (27) and is tied for second in HR (4) and OBP (.459).

Asked a friend currently scouting the league, he assured me he's legit with the caveat that he may need to alter his approach to continue making good contact as he sees more advanced pitching.

Said he and Yu-Cheng Chang are two of the more impressive guys in the league.

Been a long time since the Indians had a real homegrown power threat in their prospect ranks.
