I feel like Ray Horton wanted these dudes to grab on the receivers... Skrine and Haden are both chronic gropers. :chuckles:

Why wouldn't they match Haden up with Gordon as much as they can? Seems like the best for both sides to have to work as much as they can against elite talent.

I think all 3 of these guys are going to get a lot of playing time. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 play together with Mingo sliding inside in place of Robertson or Kirksey in certain packages.

I agree.

Like last year - we will be running a multiple front, with tons of different looks. I am assuming we will have several packages featuring all of our 1s and 2s on the defensive depth chart. From the articles i have been reading, they have been getting very creative on the defensive side of the ball.

Basically, the 1s and 2s are pretty interchangeable.

Yea I read somewhere that Mingo was doing a lot more in pass coverage than last year. Maybe they are adding that to his game or maybe schematically they think he's better staying back vs rushing the passer.

I read that as well. I am assuming if they can add on to his coverage skills , it will only make him more effective off the edge. A player who can rush the edge really well and be solid in coverage is an amazing weapon. It will only make the QB have to think harder when Mingo is showing blitz but, also know he is a threat in zone coverage.

Typically edge rushers are a liability in coverage. So, if Mingo can add that to his game - he will be even more dynamic.

Doesn't get much better than that. Over Haden, too.

Haden's revenge:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Browns?src=hash">#Browns</a> CB Joe Haden just picked off Hoyer.</p>&mdash; Nate Ulrich (@NateUlrichABJ) <a href="https://twitter.com/NateUlrichABJ/statuses/497397736363552768">August 7, 2014</a></blockquote>

Or Hoyer just sucks:

Seriously, could Gary Barnidge be in more Vines without getting a ball thrown to him? Look at that cut on a dime he's making as the ball sails over his head. And he was wide open in the flats on the one yesterday from Manziel to Hawkins.

Throw it to Barnidge!

Is Randy Mims the biggest hanger on in the history of hanger ons?

I like that.

Trying to make the receivers appear competent from a distance.

Everything Hoyer did outside the throw was fugly :chuckles:

Great toss, great catch, solid coverage... Hoyer just back pedaled for his "drop back".
