2015 Home Opener -|- Indians vs. Tigers -|- April 10th, 11th, and 12th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If this wasn't Detroit i wouldn't be saying any of this.

We're not good enough. Simple as that. Our players are still defeated by Detroit from previous ass whoopings.

Not trying to be a smart ass at all- serious question. What made you think we were good before the season started? I see only Brandon Moss as a big addition- we couldn't even get a hit or score a run in the wild card game last year.

Maybe I'm negative- but I just don't see it with this team.

On the other hand- it's way too early to freak, but....me personally, I don't expect much from this team. Maybe it's Cleveland-Itus.

Babies are right, more often than not.

Reference: have a 6 month old.

I mean, if they got shut out in the playoffs in the season BEFORE last season....It was pretty evident they'd never do anything two years later.

Awesome take.

Buster Olney world series prediction sky rocketed my hopes.

Well given Buster's sterling reputation for not picking the World Series champions 8 months in advance, I can see why your expectations were so high.

The way the pitching looked to end the year. The way the lineup still produced with down years from 3 of its most important players. That we have 2 breakout stars who won Silver Sluggers at their position. That we added an All-Star from last year who, if he hadn't been hurt the entire 2nd half of the season last year, would have most likely been a 40+ HR hitter last season while playing his home games at one of the least hitter friendly parks in baseball. And we still have one of the best managers in baseball.

This is still a very good team, and it will be a very good team (if Gomes isn't out for a substantially long period of time that is)...just in typical fashion, baseball fans are overreacting to the 1st week of play.

I gotcha. I don't see it- just my opinion but our offense is poor. We still need a power hitter, and a lead-off hitter. We can't compete with these loaded teams.

Did you miss the part where they got shut out in the playoffs two years ago?

I agree with all that. Still feel offensive firepower is severely lacking.

The best part is? You may not need to ever play them to get to the World Series. IE: Royals

Go look at their offensive numbers from the last few years with this core and keep thinking that.

Browns have been lookin' for the same thing as the Indians have since '99....except they've been lookin' for a quarterback.

Royals: 6-13 vs. DET last year - guess who was nearly World Series champs? Yeah it sucks. I said it as well, but calm down.

(Indians: 8-11 vs. DET last year)
