2015 Home Opener -|- Indians vs. Tigers -|- April 10th, 11th, and 12th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm zero percent concerned about the 2-3 start, but I'm very concerned about the health of Brantley and Gomes. Gomes seems likely to miss significant time while back injuries like Brantley's can bother players throughout a season.

With that said, I think it's time already to start looking at promoting Francisco Lindor. Let me start by saying I like Jose Ramirez and think he has plenty of value to this team. In fact, I don't think it's out of the question for 2016 to move Ramirez to 2B and push Kipnis back to the outfield.

Right now the Indians need some help against left-handed pitching and Lindor can provide that help. A switch hitter, Lindor has hit lefties better than righties in the minor and has (.313 in AA, .320 in AAA in vs LHP 2014). He would improve the defense, and would break up the trio of lefties at the top of the lineup. Pushing Kipnis down in the order would also help with Gomes out.

New Lineup:

L-CF-Bourn
S-SS-Lindor
L-LF-Brantley
S-1B-Santana
L-RF-Moss
L-2B-Kipnis
R-3B-Chisenhall
R-DH-Aviles
R-C-Perez

Moss would also DH with the other bench players rotating in that spot depending on matchups/off days for starters.

I know the Indians don't want to rush Lindor but if you want to contend for a World Series, you need your best team on the field. That team has Lindor at SS.

Agree but I'll swap Kipnis with Bourn, or move Bourn further down. Bourn's strikeout rate seems worse than ever, his once upon a speed is indeed that. Kip has quick feet and if he can return to form then he is a dangerous leadoff hitter that we must need so Brantley and Santana can bring him in. Lindor is just a bonus with what he brings at the 2 slot and it's probably best for him. No pressure at starting a game off and will get pitches if Kip gets on base.

Im just so down on Bourn. He has some of the most lazy, don't give a fuck swings you can watch, and lets face it, he was a leadoff hitter in this league because of his speed, but not anymore.

Yea, I dont get the logic of Bourn hitting lead off because he use to be fast.

These Indians uniforms with red hats are horrific... Goodness

Looks like #58 is not really that good. Why is he in the 5 man rotation ?

Because he was really good last year.

This team just needs to see someone other than Detroit right now, this is ridiculous.

Really doesn't matter who pitches for the Indians against the Tigers, they will get rocked

This is crazy now. 30 singles in 3 games by Detroit.

The BABIP against the Tribe this series has to be absurd...every grounder gets through, every pop up drops...ridiculous, get these guys out of town.
