2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Leicester City had 5000/1 odds to win the EPL. If they can do it, we sure as hell can!

Fuck the Super Bowl, I just want to not finish last in the AFC North. Those are the baby steps we need to take. If Hue & Co. can make that happen by next year, then we have a start.

Compete for the playoffs in 2-3 years. Make the playoffs in 3-4 years.

That may seem like a long time, but I am willing to wait if they can build it right.

We know we are probably going to have a terrible season ahead of us and that's fine. B/c then we have a chance to get our young, franchise QB if RG3 decides to have Nature Valley legs again + possibly "the next" AP (Fournette).

All in on Rosen, he's got to prove he can improve this year despite losing more than maybe any QB in America.

The QB class is about average Id say, Watson can be special. Falk and Kaaya can absolitely get into the Top 10 discussion with some growth.

Thanks for the write-ups. You do a great job with this stuff!!! Always look forward to these types of posts from you. Thanks!

JuJu Smith is a future number 1 Wr in the NFL. He would have been the first WR picked in this years draft. I would think we would not go WR in the 1st next year but you never know. I am eyeing either Cook or Fournette with one of our first rounders. I think both are future pro bowlers.
But does JuJu have moxie?

In a weak WR class, I'm sure teams are going to fall in love with a guy like Jehu Chesson.

He's has A+ intangibles, great size at 6'3", he catches everything and he has top end speed.

Also has a lot of value as a versatile all tool guy, where he's great on special teams (both returns and coverage).

His highlight film is a collection of a little of everything. Running, catching, returning, blocking.....he's a late bloomer who is primed for a huge year.

I don't pay particularly close attention to them, but I would have to imagine Jourdan Lewis and Peppers will be considered in the 1st round next year.

Too small.

Peppers I agree, missed him in my initial report.

I think Lewis is not a 1st, because he doesn't have prototypical size. He's a great college corner but I think they're lying when they say he weighs even 170 LBS.

If I was guessing on grades for Michigan guys....

Jabrill Peppers - 1st round
Jehu Chesson - late 2nd-3rd (I think he will have a huge year)
Chris Wormley - late 2nd-3rd
Jake Butt - 3rd-4th (pending great testing)
Jourdan Lewis - late 3rd-4th

I rank Chesson higher but he could slot more in the middle rounds. He also has the size and speed that some team will fall in love with.

Peppers is really the only guy that has a 1st round grade IMO.

Who is Michigan's QB supposed to be this season? I think Butt could be the top TE, which would put him in round 2 I'd guess.

TBD.....that's kind of what killed Chesson's development early too. Once Rudock settled in during the back half of the season Chesson had a monster finish.

One of the big problems (potentially) for both Butt and Chesson from a grade standpoint is Michigan seems to have two QB's who do vastly different things.

John O'korn is a transfer from Houston. He has a ton of talent but he's also one of those guys who could throw for 5 TD's but also have 3 INT's. Great arm, can throw downfield but he takes way too many chances.....at least that is the report this spring.

Wilton Speight is the opposite. He's more of a Brian Griese type. Take what is there, don't force it down field and just manage the game.

Given how good Michigan's defense should be this season, I'm guessing Harbaugh opts for Speight unless O'korn can make better decisions. Guess we'll see.

I guess I just don't see what others see in Peppers.

Really? He's a consensus 1st rounder across all the sites.

Matt Miller - #10
PFF - #22
Walter - #20
McShay - #23
CBS - #14

He's the absolute prototypical hybrid player NFL teams covet.

In a nickel package, you can play him as the 3rd CB near the box and not give up run support in passing formations.

Talented in the return game, hyper competitive, super physical and he's going to test off the charts.
