The Cavs vs Bulls Series

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have a heavy heart for Derrick Rose, the person. So much promise that will likely never be fulfilled and that must be devastating to have to deal with.

However I couldn't care less for Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls PG, or the pompous Chicago fan base.

Don't sleep on Indiana, they might not have home court advantage in the playoffs but they should finally be healthy. Definitely the team nobody wants to face in the first round.

Hot take there Keys...

Actually I am not afraid of Indiana. We lost to them by 8 points without LBJ or Kyrie. Paul George ain't gon save em.

Assuming that Butler and Rose do come back with 2 weeks left in the season would make these injuries a blessing in disguise. Could be the healthiest the Bulls enter the postseason since 2011. Other bright spot is that Niko has gotten some good burn since the all star game and it seems like Thibs finally is seeing that Hinrich can't play more than 20 minutes. I have been wanting Moore to get more playing time cause I liked what I saw in the first month of the season when he was getting playing time while Rose missed 9 games that month. He made the most of this opportunity Thursday night. Don't know if McDermott will be able to bust out this season but looks like he will at least finally get a chance. Still think the Cavs win the Central. I just hope the Bulls are healthy for the postseason.

Bulls have crazy depth. No idea why Mirotic was getting benched the past few months. I think the Bulls can hold their playoff position long enough for Butler and Rose to get healthy.

How is has this not been picked up in the mainstream media as a narrative yet? I've seen it mentioned maybe once or twice, but generally whenever the bulls get mentioned in the media it's unfortunate this, injury prone that and no one ever seems to look at what the common denominator is for this injuries. it boggles my fucking mind that no one is taking Thibs to task for this.

It's definitely a story here in the Chicago area. It is the biggest reason why there exists a gulf between Thibs and the front office. Thibs believes if a player is cleared by the doctor then he is ready to go. Thibs is probably the last old school coach in the NBA. He always sites the minutes MJ, Pip, and Duncan in his early years use to play when anyone asks him the minutes question. Also I think Thibs believes that a coach should be able to run his team as he sees fit without meddling of the front office. Front office assembles the team and gets out the way. I still don't know why Ron Adams was fired but I know that upset Thibs. I always hate it when coaches can't pick their own staff.

As far as running players to the ground I think sometimes its fair to criticize Thibs with that. No reason to keep starters in during blowouts. He does that too often. But at other times he is forced to play players tons of minutes because quite frankly their depth gets decimated due to injuries. In order to win he couldn't play the likes of Marcus Teague heavy minutes. So it was either play a very short rotation with competent players to try to maximize winning or play players that are no longer in the NBA extended minutes and lose more games. Look at this year when the Bulls have had a healthy roster (all 8 games) nobody besides Jimmy was playing more than 32 minutes. Last year I kinda wanted the Bulls to tank after trading Luol but Joakim and Thibs wasn't having any of that.

Bulls front office wuld be mental to get rid of Thibs. You don't know what you've got until it's gone! He overplays his players, yes. But that is something which can be sorted. Its also the players' responsibility to let Thibs know he needs a rest. But as a coach, he is absolutely brilliant. Just need to manage the minutes and start involving their younger players more, which in all honesty is something that can be worked upon!

Managing minutes is part of coaching as well, and thibs simply doesn't do a good job of this. Wether it's thibs or the roster right now or the combination, i don't Think anyone Can argue with point that the Bulls as they are built right now, FO, roster and all is a pretty misconstructed organisation especially with the Way they've looked this season. They Will need make some drastic changes soon, because at it stands right now they Will never be able to come out of the east.

I don't get the shitting on an entire fan base like they can all collectively be "bad." I mean, the Chicago Metro area is like 10 million people. Of course you are going to find dumb people commenting anonymously online about other teams. Have you been to CavsFanatic?

Wow if any of you the chance, look at the Bulls board and their comments on our game yesterday against Houston (around the NBA thread). All kinds of comments like calling Lebron a bitch and wishing he got permanently injured from the Harden kick, calling Cleveland a dump, and talking all kinds of shit about Cavs fans and the team. I can't believe I felt sympathy for Bulls fans when Rose went down. Won't happen again. Fuck those overconfident assholes. I hope we match up with them in the playoffs and wipe the floor with them.

I'd rather them fall into 4th place and get Rose back in time for the 2nd round against Atlanta.

I'd rather they then go on to win a long, brutal 7-game series in which Rose once again is hurt (not badly, but out for say 4 weeks? lol..)

Then we can go up against them in the ECF. ;)

I am going to go out on a limb, and say the Bulls might actually be better without Derrick Rose. I watched a lot of that game last night, the way they moved the ball is beautiful.

When the offense is run through Gasol, it just opens up the game for everyone. I think people underestimate how good Gasol really is. The guy is a future hall of famer and has two rings for a reason. Heck, the second ring he got, I thought he was more valuable than Kobe Bryant that season.

He's better than Derrick Rose ever was, IMO.

The guy is a great passer, with elite post skills. That's just a nightmare for any team to go up against. He's really found the fountain of youth again.

You surround him with deadly shooters, and a healthy Butler, they are going to be dangerous.

I think the worst thing that can happen to the Bulls, is that Rose comes back, ruins their continuity. I rather face a Bulls team running the offense through Rose than Gasol personally. Both Gasol and Noah are willing, and great passers at their position.

So I am rooting for Rose to come back, and screw it up. The Bulls should just get rid of him this off-season. The guy is not good, always injured, and takes up a shit load of salary.

I wouldn't become a full time member at CavsFanatic even if I got a weekly salary for doing so.

Come on. You already know you need a player who can break down players in the playoffs without rose who can do that. Gosal isn't young anymore to carry a team and Butler isn't a 1st option. Playoffs are different.

But on Rose I think he will come back better. Apparently that knee has been a problem most of the year. You could tell which games he looked bad in to. He would usually take 7-9 3s that's not his game he probably wasn't felling right. But in games where he went to the basket he showed he still had that speed. The repair can have him fresh for the playoffs which will result in him attacking again.

Haven't been there. Is it THAT bad?

I really like this forum though. I mean yes, there are occasional kneejerk reaction and overreactions but that is natural with sports forums. But no cynicism or abuses involved.
