Anthony Bennett

Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

You really need to look at this players as kids. Heck they are. You can not expect them to act like pro players especially if they have not yet set foot on an actual nba game or gone through a season. He is your investment as the number 1 pick and you need to cash in on your investment. Otherwise, you are just a stupid investor.

I'm not against doing everything you can to help develop young players, I just think it's a stretch to put blame on the organization for AB showing up out of shape.

As soon as he was drafted he became a highly paid professional basketball player. If he wasn't ready for the scrutiny of being under the microscope of NBA fans he should have stayed in college another year.

you're too much....

The Cavs have a history of taking risk on players without evaluating them fully.

Dion didn't even interview or workout with us but we still drafted him 4th overall. He was out of shape for the majority of his rookie campaign starting in the summer league.

so what? Did he bust or did he turn out to be a top player from his class?

Did anyone else notice that in the box score for the game against the Suns, it says "DND - Left Patellar Stress Fracture"? I thought he had a tendon strain.

May be a mistake because I know Felix is out with that injury.

Check out this great Podcast: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/feeds/itunes/podCast?id=2864045

Bill Simmons had Steve Nash on his podcast and they talked about Anthony for a little bit. Nash seems to be high on him, saying he's been put in a bad situation. Simmons says that he's buying Bennett stock and that he's been misused. Very interesting stuff overall.

EDIT-- this dialogue happens around the end of the interview. There's a snippet of it on YouTube but it doesn't contain everything said in the audio file.

Anyone with a working brain can see that...unless you have an undying affection for TT.

Come on, let's be fair. My affection for TT barely compares to your raging hard-on for AB. Mountain of a man? I'm still dying from that one.

wuck edit: no need to gravedig posts from this thread. I think you both could be happier by using the Ignore User option.

Without Bennett, I have no interest in even watching the rest of the season.

Back to back road wins over western conference playoff teams get your attention back?

Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

Probably makes sense to shut him down for the season and start over this summer. Get him in shape and make sure (as best we can) he works hard in the offseason to make a splash as a sophomore. Consider this a redshirt freshman year. I still have hope for him.

I just have to say I'm so glad that Cosmo is here to deflect from the attention i was getting a month ago in this thread. Now I can just sit back relax and watch the show :chuckles:

I'm sure I'll have to tag in soon enough to talk about our favorite small forward. (I don't mean Lebron you sick bastards :runs:

Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

Since this is my first post on Anthony Bennett in this site, I'll go ahead and say that I was absolutely shocked when we took Bennett over Nerlens Noel & Alex Len. Leading up to draft day, I had convinced myself that Noel was going to be our guy. Even before the draft, I posted on another site that I thought Bennett was going to be a star in this league with his combination of size, skill and athleticism. When I heard we had used our #1 pick on him, I was shocked and even a little upset at first. It didn't take me long to convince myself that it was the right pick though.

For those that doubt on Anthony Bennett's potential, all I have to say is: be patient please. Bennett looked awful at the start of the season but it wasn't completely his fault. He was coming off a shoulder surgery and was out of shape. It happens all the time, remember Dion last year? He was out of shape too! Now, he's one of our best players. If Bennett works on his conditioning this offseason, we'll have a completely new player on our hands next season. He's going to take the league by storm, guaranteed 100%!

Bennett deserves a chance to win the PF spot from TT at least.
