Anthony Bennett

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

Feel that, tank fans? That's God kicking your balls in with karma.

Tank fans...Cavs fans...what's the difference? You act as if we have a choice the last 3 years.

Probably after the Cavs lose a few more games, Bennett's "Injury" magically improves and he comes back quicker than expected(or when the Cavs finally throw in the towel).

Hopefully this will be an indicator of if he takes his conditioning seriously. I strained my patellar tendon in high school but I was still swimming everyday after the first week and watched my eating to ensure I didn't get out of shape. I hope he learned his lesson from earlier this season

Benching AB is the furthest thing from a tanking move. I love the guy, but playing him big minutes now would be a tanking move. Highly doubt this is a fake injury.

Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

If Bennett is out for 3 weeks, the Cavs should encourage him to get his nose fixed with a turbinectomy procedure to help alleviate his sleep apnea condition.

Recovery time (for me at least) is 2 weeks.

Bennett could use a healthy off season to stay in shape and work on his game.

Re: Anthony Bennett: Actually Playin' Well

Really? That is a bit crazy, that would make him a top 10 PF in the league today to put up those kind of numbers. That would rank him #7 in total scoring among PF and # 13 in rebounds for PF. I know we want the guy to succeed, but to think AB could even come close to averaging those numbers for a whole season is crazy.

Re: Anthony Bennett (out for the next 3 weeks)

We wasted just about a whole season of this kid's career by forcing Mike Brown upon him.

No he wasted his 1st season by coming into camp over weight and out of shape. Did you miss the first half of the season where the kid was ready for a water break after 1 or 2 times down the court? While I agree, MB has done the kid no favors, we should not be making excuses for the kid. He choose to gain the weight and use his injury as an excuse this summer.

If that is the case then we fucked up by not giving him the program necessary for him to keep the weight down. We drafted him in June and opened the season November. That is almost 5 months. We could have given him a trainor and a dietician. You could not expect a kid to formulate his own workout and diet. My goodness.

Without Bennett, I have no interest in even watching the rest of the season.

:chuckles:

What is he, 10-years-old? He's making over 5 million dollars this year, his playing weight at the beginning of the year was inexcusable. You don't need a team of dieticians to tell you to lay off pizza and cheeseburgers and workout.

Please people. We drafted him in June? He had Labrum surgery in May. So from May- July/August. He could have had his arm immobilized. To be a guy of that build not being able to exercise in any way tends to put on weight. Ask Sean Kemp he didn't need anything but the depressive void of Child Support. This guy had a legit reason he could NOT run. Could NOT work out. Then when you aren't immobilized (no clue his timeline) it's still about 4 months before you're "cleared". I am sorry he did nothing wrong. He probably busted his ass as he could've just waited til the All Star break when he probably finally felt right. As it's an injury that even when cleared for everything your arm just feels wrong for a long time and you nurse it.

Put it on his handlers. The kid should not have played until his weight was back where he's comfortable and he was comfortable in practice. I GUARANTEE you he was not in November, and how he played didn't help.

And getting water? Yeah it was probably the first time he could run. You can't run/use a bike when immobilized and really shouldn't when they take the cast off (well not hard cast). So all the exercise facilities in the world don't mean anything when your left arm is atrophied beyond recognition and before that when you can just look at them and sit around taking pain killers and icing.

Keep shoveling that blame off AB, it's working strikingly well so far. I completely forgot players his size gain a completely unavoidable 40 pounds after surgery.

Are people really blaming MB for playing him in the beginning of the year? I thought if he'd actually been given a chance to play he'd be a 17-9 player right now?

You really need to look at this players as kids. Heck they are. You can not expect them to act like pro players especially if they have not yet set foot on an actual nba game or gone through a season. He is your investment as the number 1 pick and you need to cash in on your investment. Otherwise, you are just a stupid investor.
