Bills Updates: Pick Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Manuel can stay healthy, that offense will put up numbers. I predicted 8-8 for them this season before this injury and I don't think I'm going to change that prediction. They weren't going to stop anyone with Kiko due to all the turnover this offseason, but I think their offense will win them games against some of the lousy teams they play this season.

A few of my friends are Bills fans so I watched them quite a bit last year. Marrone's offensive system looked really nice at times with EJ under center.

Are you high on Manuel? Because from my perspective he was very mediocre last year. I'd go 6-10 for them, and that might be a bit optimistic for me.

Would love for this pick to turn into Cooper From Alabama. We need someone to turn themselves into NFL Draft God.

Under on Bills, over on Browns and lock it in..

I don't see any way the Bills can succeed this year with a worse defense that lost 2 of their 3 best players now and young QB who will make mistakes. CJ Spiller should have a nice year since he's healthy again and Sammy Watkins will look good at times, but they really don't have much on that team that should make them better than a 6-10 team. I have a feeling they only win 4 or 5 games with that rough schedule of theirs as well.

Would be nice to have a top 15 pick next year along with what should be our own 32nd pick.

I'm typically not one of those people who looks at history as the end-all-be-all for determining future, but if you took the past 20 years of Bills draft picks, they average out to 11 (if I remember correctly).

EJ Manual is another injury away from the whole thing coming unraveled.. It'll be interesting to watch. Well, hopefully more interesting than the Falcons.

To be fair, you can say that about most teams and their starting QBs. Manuel had fluid drained from his knee in the preseason and sprained his LCL vs the Browns missing 5 games. Those are the only injuries of note in his football career. Pretty minor stuff in relation to most football injuries.

A large factor determining how the Bills' season will play out is the development of EJ Manuel. He showed some flashes last year, but I certainly don't think he'll set the world on fire this year...

I think Watkins will eventually be a fantastic WR in the mold of Roddy White and be a nice weapon for the Bills, but we said this on draft night after the trade; he does not make them a playoff team this seaspm. I assume he will see the opposing team's best CB each week anyways, so his impact will be mitigated. The trade of Stevie Johnson will undoubtedly make things a lot tougher on Watkins this year.

With the news of Kiko Alonso going down, on top of losing Pettine and Byrd does not bode well for them. I predict 5-11 and a top 7 pick. Thanks, Buffalo!

Their entire season rests on Manuel's improvement and their ability to overcome the loss of their coordinators on defense.

People who have faith in Manuel (I do not) could see them getting to 8-8, I think that's a bit of a pipe dream given their schedule. Playing the entire AFC West(@DEN/OAK and SD/KC at home) and NFC North (@CHI/vGB) doesn't help.

Oh well. :dunno:

Ill be rooting against them hard sadly. I like the Bills and Kiko is fantastic, but Browns come first. Good thread.

Felt the exact same way about the Colts last year, as they have always been my #2 team (I do forgive them for resting their starters in 2007 - we weren't going to win a rematch against the Pats anyway.)

Nothing official just yet, but Cordy Glenn has been sidelined with a mysterious "illness" which may be a long-term problem. There are even some rumors that the PUP/IR list. If so, great news for the Browns and their pick (although it goes without saying that hopefully there's nothing seriously wrong with him long-term).

Don't have the tweets but I know at least 2 people went down with injuries today. Don't know how severe

If that Bills pick ends up being number one I am going to laugh maniacally.
