^ I wonder if it was a discussion based on a play on words. As in, "will Sammy Watkins be a bust in this draft? Will he have a bust in the HOF?"

Still, ridiculous stuff.

I hope he is a bust. Then I won't have to listen to "We should have taken him!" until my ears bleed.

Sammy Watkins walking slowly back to the locker room with trainers. Rib injury.

Wow that team is jinxed this year. Never thought that pick had a chance to be top 5 but the Bills are going to run out of players at this rate.

I know it's just preseason, but Manuel looked terrible.

Damn, I didn't realize anyone outside Buffalo thought that highly of the Bills.

I thought there was a decent chance we'd be getting back a top-5 pick from Buffalo the moment we made the trade, even then the likelihood of the pick falling in the top-10 next year was high. The Bills have almost been as bad as the Browns recently. Even before the rash of injuries they were at best a 7-8 win team, and that's a stretch. The Bills have gone five straight years winning 6 or fewer games, and it's almost been a full ten years since they've even had a winning record.

In fairness, thinking they won't be one of the five worst teams in the league doesn't necessarily mean one thinks highly of them :chuckles:

I was referring to the "never thought that pick had a chance" part, I don't understand how anyone could be that high on the 2014 Buffalo Bills. I can only think of two teams (Oakland and Jacksonville) I'd pick over Buffalo as safer bets to finish with one of the worst five records next year, I guess I'm just shocked anyone thought there was no chance we could get a top-5 pick out of this trade.

I didn't expect Buffalo to be good, but I did see them as having the potential to win between 6-8 games before all the injuries. They have a decent defense and a little bit more experience from their QB. In the NFL breaking even can sometimes get you in the playoffs, so getting a pick out of the top 5 isn't terribly hard to do. Therefore, us getting a pick in the middle of the first, 12-18 range, was what I was expecting. Still a great trade for us, but now that they're dropping like flies we are very realistically looking at one of the top picks, and for once it won't be because of our own record, lol

I'm realistically expecting two top 5 picks in the 2015 draft. I have a weird feeling they'll be next to each other too. I'm going to guess we'll own the 3rd (Buffalo), and 4th (Browns) overall picks.

I just can't see us being that bad this year with our defense as talented as it is. As long as we have a running game and play action in the red zone to Cameron I think we will be able to win some low scoring games.

Eh, I can. The defense will be out of gas by the 3rd quarter when the offense can't stay on the field. Happened last few years.
