ECF: Cavs 4 - Hawks 0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We need to start sacrificing a poster to the basketball gods on every losing game thread. Whoever has been whining the most.

FOX Sports Ohio asked a dozen media members, including Johnson, for their picks on the NBA's final four. Here are their predictions:

Here's the thing: when they win, it's awesome. Everyone is all liquored up and happy, hug your brother type stuff, high five your neighbor, slap an ass and get a smile in return. It's really a great scene. However, when they lose, things get a little out of control, but you will get used to it. Of course, everyone is a little ornery, which is to be expected. Kids are up late, parents have to return to their miserable jobs the next day, that makes sense. But when they pick that one fan that they sacrifice to the basketball gods, that's when it gets weird. It isn't even the screams as he drops from the Jumbotron, since that's all short-lived and it wasn't a drawn out event. It's the crowd getting into it that creeped me out. I say that in the past tense because now I am pretty used to it, the odds are low of being chosen, and the odds are negligible that the Cavs lose since we are awesome, even though we lost that perennial all-star and beat 2 teams that were struggling. A lot of the bandwagoners will leave before it's over, even leaving at a close game, since they are so worried about the repercussions of being chosen if we lose. It's a numbers game - you will be fine.

So have fun and cheer like there's no tomorrow!
For the KLove injury game vs Boston they actually sacrificed an entire section.

Oh I'll never forget too because it was only one number off from mine. Whew.

Which judging by history means we'll lose in 5.

Seems like JR is keen on the sweep

I typed this at half, I was damn sure this game was ours

Atlanta is a good team, but they have a few glaring weaknesses. Unluckily for them, their biggest weakness is they have ZERO chance at containing LeBron. The ONLY thing that can stop LeBron this series is himself if starts taking jumpers for no reason. Notice how little effort LeBron needs to get into the paint as opposed to last series where outside of some stretches the Bulls tried like hell to keep him out of the paint and we saw jumpshot James. They have no answer for LBJ. There are no adjustments. You want to double him like you did in the regular season? Don’t make me laugh. Seriously. They have prepared for that, and that’s why the Hawks have only done it once. It won’t work. LeBron is a phenomenal passer who rarely doesn’t see the whole court. He will burn you 9/10 times on that. It is like sending an all out blitz on Aaron Rodgers. He is going to find the open man, think of a new defense. LeBron will get his all series, and it will usually look pretty easy. When the Hawks start trying the trap on him it is basically a mini white flag.

Kyrie on Teague will hurt us bad. But Shump has done a phenomenal job making Korver a complete non factor. Side note : holy hell isn’t it awesome to have such an amazing defender? We can basically name whatever non center on the court and make him a complete non-factor by just sticking Shump on him. He is like Joe Haden, just put him on a guy and let him do his thing. He will never need help. So basically the question becomes do you want to shut down Korver, or put Shump on Teague. Interesting to see going forward how we match up

The foul calls on LeBron have been complete horse shit

I want to see a lot of small ball this series. And a lot of JR. We will outrebound them every game this series anyway. I want JR putting up 12-16 shots a game every game this series. JR is never really not open. Delly/Shump/Smith/LeBron/TT would provide with enough rebounding and great defense. KI/Shump/Smith/LeBron/TT would give us better spacing, but sacrificing a little defense. I love Moz, but I think we should run small a good bit this series. Tristan is a one man army on the boards. He alone will just dismantle the Hawks on the glass.

There are a lot of teams the Hawks can beat in a series with their style of play. We aren’t one of them IMO.

this team is really, really damn good. We won game 1 on the road in the conference finals and we are missing Love and Kyrie is on two bad wheels. holy hell does it make me feel great that next year we will have a full arsenal again. And for this year we have a gritty team that steps up and picks up the slack if someone goes down. Someone goes down, someone steps up. I just feel this is our year guys. This is a TEAM

With Carroll out, be prepared to see a steady diet of LBJ with 3 shooters and TT setting the pick. It will be a beautiful mismatch every single time. Should work like a charm. Spread pick and roll heaven.

Honestly with Carroll out, we SHOULD sweep now. I will say this - we know from recent experience, an injury like this can galvanize a team. It will likely provide a temporary shorterm boost to Atlanta in game 2. We weather that.. we can put a dagger in the Hawks and come home up 2-0 and virtually a lock to make the Finals. And with Kyrie being a shell of himself.. a sweep and the extra rest that would provide could mean the difference in beating Golden State or not beating them.

Therefore, game 2 is huge in my mind. We can pretty much make them quit going forward.
