David Blatt is a former NBA coach

I hope David Blatt's defensive tendencies trump that of his highly coveted offensive. With players like Irving, Love & James, the offense could almost run without coordination. Not that that's preferable, but hypothetically.

Really anxious to see some improvement in our ability to guard. Obviously LBJ automatically makes us better. But I'm still a little nervous about a how a Kevin Love inclusive Cavs team looks on the defensive end of the floor.

The way to solve this is by stocking our entire bench with defensive players and 3pt shooters.

Why is he on notice?

I'm confused.

Kawakami (Warriors beat reporter) posted that tweet on July 29. It was simply his way of saying that if Blatt (as an inexperienced coach in the NBA) doesn't succeed with a team with a strong roster, then he might not last long. It was speculation considering the high expectations for the Cavs and the challenge for a rookie coach.

That could be a part of it.

The other thing that Kawakami tweeted about was that Mark Jackson just became a Rich Paul client. I assume that's what you're talking about. Or is there something else?

20 game notice my butt. Go cover your own team timbo.

I'm sure that Warriors guy has connection to Mark Jackson who just signed with Lebron's agent. Can't believe Gilbert let Lebron and his group take over his team again.

Eh, he isn't saying anything that you couldn't infer with a little deductive reasoning. The Cavs just got done canning a guy after one year, and that guy was handpicked and had a good relationship with the owner. Blatt was also inked after the Cavs were passed over a few times and before LBJ came back. Others will be gunning for job. 20 games seems nuts, but remember that LBJ and Love are on one year deals, and while LBJ says he will not leave, the team needs to win to be the team that keeps Love here.

Again, not really anything groundbreaking or out of left field. Just par for the course for a new NBA coach who just inherited the best player in the game and team that is about to go 'all in' on 'win now' mode. We get to find out if Blatt if ready for that challenge :)

You better believe David Blatt was on one-season notice every single year he coached Tel Aviv. Not to mention the Russian national team. It's a situation he's used to.

And it's reasonable enough with this lineup (especially if he gets Love). Potatohead Brown won 66 games with a 'big three' of Lebron James, Anderson Varejao, and Mo Williams. Blatt should be able to win a lot too, and do better in the playoffs.

Maybe Lebron and Blatt still haven't spoken?

They have through text. It's hard to believe Lebron isn't communicating with Griffin and Blatt during the Love for Wiggins speculation.

Blatt mentioned a text volley. Prove to me they've had a conversation.

Lebron is communicating with Dan Gilbert.
