Good Gravy, that's insane.

Insane true, real no. See no way LeBron signs if he does no approve the coach and players no matter how strong his ties are. Also even if Bron was not keen on Blatt he could still talk with Lue. The same thing applies to all plays though as they have to be run by the coaching staff to work. In other words LeBron in someway has to work with Blatt however I feel LeBron will become his own coach in way. It will be fun to see who coaches who this season :chuckles:

Blatt mentioned a text volley. Prove to me they've had a conversation.

Lebron is communicating with Dan Gilbert.

Blatt mentioned that he has spoken to LeBron in a recent SportIllustrated.com interview during Select Team practice. He also mentioned it being a good conversation and that LeBron's basketball intelligence is through the roof.

You guys are spouting nonsense. David Blatt is the coach of this team, and I believe it's for the long haul.

I'm not passing rumors. Ha. Blatt and Lebron have still not yet had a conversation. Lebron doesn't want to work with David Blatt.

A bit ambiguous about whether Blatt and LeBron had a conversation before (or just texted), but they did speak today.

LeBron James met with new Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt and new general manager David Griffin in person for the first time Tuesday as he prepared for the upcoming season, sources told ESPN.com.

James has been extremely busy since announcing his decision to sign with the Cavs last month, going on promotional trips for Nike to Brazil and China while also shooting a movie in New York. James met face-to-face with team owner Dan Gilbert before announcing his free agent choice but had communicated with Griffin and Blatt by telephone and text.

The Cavs management saw a thinner James when they hosted him at their training facility. He has been focused on cutting his weight since the end of the Finals by reducing carbs and has lost more than 10 pounds.

James' thinner frame was noticeable on some photos he posted on his Instagram account earlier this week.

It has been a busy week for the Cavs. Mike Miller came to town and is soon expected to sign a two-year, $5.6 million deal with the Cavs. They also hosted veteran free agent forward Shawn Marion on a visit Monday and they are hoping to sign him to a contract as well.

The team has been deep in discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a trade for Kevin Love since June. ESPN reported last week the Wolves and Cavs are focuses on completing a deal once No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins is eligible to be traded on Aug. 23 as multiple league sources have begun to describe a Love-to-Cleveland trade as a "when" transaction as opposed to an "if."

James may not have been in the same room as his front office this summer but he's been working alongside them. He successfully recruited Miller and free agent James Jones. James has also been in contact with Love, Marion and free agent Ray Allen as he decides whether he wants to continue his career.

Over the weekend, Wiggins told ESPN that he had not spoken with James since being drafted.

Wha?

Here you go:
Kawakami (Warriors beat reporter) posted that tweet on July 29. It was simply his way of saying that if Blatt (as an inexperienced coach in the NBA) doesn't succeed with a team with a strong roster, then he might not last long. It was speculation considering the high expectations for the Cavs and the challenge for a rookie coach.

Here you go:

Kawakami gets pretty hyperbolic and saucy on Twitter. Has lots of long running debates and arguments with Bay Area fans about the Warriors and Raiders. Considering we took Blatt from the Warriors and also now are the front runner to land Love, who GS had hoped for, it didn't surprise me to see that tweet from him.

While he's right in a sense, saying 20 games is hyperbolic and the situation is no different than what people said about Doc in 2007 and Spo in 2011.

Jeez, we don't really give them a chance anymore now, do we?

To be honest, I'd commend anyone that can effectively amalgamate what will essentially be a fresh new set of faces to not only a brand new set of coaching instructions but a new playing style in 20 games. Of course, having the best player in the world helps. But it isn't Team Chemistry Rating in NBA2K we're talking about here. These players have to legitimately gel. You can put the best players in the world together on the same team at any sport and I doubt they'd get things absolutely right the first time around.

For reference, see Miami Heat 2010.

To tell you the truth, I trust Blatt 100% to cope with the highly expectations from him and for results.
I of course can't guarantee such success, nor Blatt, but Blatt so accustom to be in highly pressure environments.
If your head is on the block every single game for so many years in Maccabi or the Russian national team, it doesn't make any difference if the environment is now called the NBA or the Cavs or a contender team.
Pressure is pressure, and Blatt knows how to handle it. period.
And this is (also) what makes him a great coach.

I have zero concern. Pairing one of the most intelligent/adaptable basketball minds in the world with the best player in the NBA who is a selfless player, great teammate, and has extremely high BBIQ. Than adding Kyrie and Love to that. Plus high quality, good locker room vets like Andy, Miller, Jones, and hopefully Marion.

Even though it might take a while to figure out how to BEST play together, I think this team is going to be a juggernaut from day one. Barring major injuries, I'd be shocked with anything less than 58 wins.

Yes! Can't wait for the return of the return of Potato Head! :chuckles:

This is pretty much what most out of touch media wannabes will speak of about Blatt. As mentioned above, check Miami Heat 2010, November and December articles, 9-8 out the gate, there was the bump incident, the times LBJ passed on the last shots, etc. So the media scrutiny will be there, like it or not.

As a proponent of the Princeton offense, because it doesn't allow 1 or 2 guys to dominate the rock, it will take the offensive pressure away from LBJ and Kyrie during the 1st 3 and a half quarters. To prevent turnovers and treat each late crunch time possession like gold, there will be 2 man games or 1 man games with LBJ or Kyrie taking their man off the dribble. But given the first 43 or so minutes of the game with Cleveland running the Princeton, should allow LBJ and Kyrie to have some gas left in the tank late in games....if needed.
