Blatt will do just fine with this team. After 10 games and 9-1 or something nobody will question him anymore

People questioning him are journalist who know absolutely nothing about him and basketball in general.

He'll be absolutely great. Can't wait.

After seeing how Summer League players learned and played his style in a very short time really got me excited. When he gets that talent to do what they did he will have a ball showing top notch talent how to run his system and I really look forward to it!!

Am I the only one who is really looking forward to this? Gonna be so refreshing to have a new voice, a highly intelligent voice answering the questions.

Hopefully he's got Pop's ability to snuff out reporters who are clearly reaching for something and trying to put words in his mouth.

Hahhaha Blatt looks like such a mafia badass. Love it. Seems like he gives zero fucks.

Blatt looks like a smug bastard and I love every second of it.

He hasn't said a word yet but I love this guy.

I am going to enjoy hearing this mans voice for years to come.

I love the thread of fiber analogy. Such a badass.

Man this guy is a true professional.

Has anyone said yet that they fucking love this guy?

I fucking love this guy.

I was imagining our A team running those plays and I kept getting the thought like "omg Kyrie and Lebron are gonna kill that one". Basically everything Wiggins got to him will be good because Dion or Lebron will be doing it instead. It should open up even more because the summer league bigs gave nothing on offense , but if love is in there a lot of those plays will be more successful because teams won't be able to leave the big in single coverage.

Honestly if Blatt gets everyone to accept a role, and he keeps the ball moving I don't see why we can't have the leagues BEST offense. Yeah not top 5, top 3.........BEST. Our old Lebron team was 2 ball handlers, both being our only shot creators as well, and then shooters. Now we have four decent ball handlers, but if we get Love we'd also have four shot creators(Ray Allen makes 5, fingers crossed). Meaning on ANY given set, we possibly have 2 options that could drop 20 on any given night. That's amazing. I don't think ANY team has that other than the Knicks if healthy

I love David Blatt as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for a quick start. We will be an incredibly talented team, that's for sure, but I do believe there will be growing pains. It may take some time for all of the pieces on the team to figure out the best way to work with one another.

If all goes well, we should be a well oiled machine by the time we get to the playoffs.

I wouldn't stress out about it. When you have LeBron James, he alone can will his way to wins in spite of any coach.

Here you go:

I mean, sure, Blatt could fall flat on his face, but why would he? He's a basketball genius and an extraordinarily charismatic person.

The Man of Steel could have fallen flat on his face, too, when Lex Luthor threatened to destroy the planet. But he didn't - and he was never going to - because he was SUPERMAN.

That's why that statement is hypothetical, with very long odds of actual characterizing the universe we inhabit. My aunt could be my uncle, too, but only if she had BALLS - which has similarly long odds of actually happening.

Has there ever been a coach, with no NBA experience, that is the favorite to win a championship in his first season.
And will be heavily criticized if he doesn't?

But with the veterans on the team, I'll think he'll do OK.

As great of a coach I think Blatt is, with the addition of Love on board, I think we could play the season without a coach and still win 50 games. The natural scoring and passing ability of the players on our team will allow us to exploit many defenses and create mismatches on our own.

Blatt has probably had to shower 5 times a day for the last week with the amount of roster-bation he is doing.

Conversely, Chris Grant probably has 5 bottles of empty scotch lying around his room with a bunch of pizza boxes and hasn't shaved in a month.

So amped to see what this team is going to look like. Does Kyrie bring up the ball, does Lebron? Is it a motion offense with a three headed dragon of Kyrie, Lebron, and Dion running through picks set by Tristan with Kevin is playing the pivot?

So much ball handling, Lebron, Kyrie, Dion

So much passing, Lebron, Kyrie, Kevin, Dion

So much shooting, Kyrie, Dion, Kevin

So much rebounding, Lebron, Andy, Kevin

Kyrie and Lebron are two of the best finishers in the league

This is just the starting lineup!

You can all bitch about your rim protector, but I don't see how this team can be stopped.

The thing that has made me laugh the most with this is some of the pundits saying Chicago is the better team now that Rose is back. I still remember the playoffs where Lebron shut him the fuck down and he couldn't do shit. If he takes him out again, the Bulls are easy to knock off.

If you missed it, here is a long and very well written profile about David Blatt written by Jack McCallum:

Hopefully Kyrie is able to have a nice mix of handling the ball making plays and spotting up when needed. I think with offensively elite teammates around him his playmaking skills are really going to be showcased next season, which has been somewhat of a question mark in his game.

Why? Because he averages 6 assist instead of 8?
