Is it a common thing for a player to draw up plays in the NBA?
Is it something reserved for future aspiring coaching players?
did Lue/Kerr do that as players?

I'd imagine star players frequently have input on the plays that are drawn up, as they'll be the ones running them.

"..I drew up a few sets for him in timeout..". Exact quote. I don't see no coach or team decisions.. I drew..
It might mean something and might not.. take it as you like..

I think you're reading too much into this. LeBron is going to have a certain level of control over what happens on the court, and I doubt Blatt is going to complain if LeBron is engaged enough to start coming up with plays to get Love going. An active and engaged LeBron is only a good thing for Blatt.

I'll quote James Brown's song:
"This is a player's world!"

I know that this is something we are not familiar with in Europe but as Jack Brickman said it very clearly - an active and engaged Lebron is a good thing. And I'll add to that - Amen!

Pop at times would let Tim Duncan takeover a timeout to yell at players for blowing defensive assignments, I remember watching Tony Parker running the huddle in the playoffs last season. I'd imagine vet players with enough cred/respect regularly do these things.

I honestly wish Blatt would go with a 9 or 10 man rotation instead of this 8 man rotation. I know they are getting chemistry and clicking together but I would play Shawn Marion a little just to give Lebron about 3 or 4 more minutes off a night.

Why? I have seen enough of Marion to know that the next time I want to see him is an assistant coach like Mike Miller. Lebron is paid enough. He can play most of the first 3 quarters until garbage time.

Its not garbage time every night though. He is third in the league in minutes. You need him to be big in the playoffs and this is his 12th season. I didn't say to play Marion 20 plus minutes a game he can come in and give Lebron a few minutes off a night .

With their talent it should be garbage time every 4th quarter.-

Whether they do or not, that was a joke. I figured the meme would give it away.

It was a funny joke too... People around here need to lighten up.

It is weird though, "drawing up plays?"

Every time I think of LBJ drawing up plays it reminds me of the old Slam Dumb cartoon with Mike Brown.

I don't even think he went as far as Manu went there. I think it's just a figure of speech, he didn't really grab the board and drew plays, I don't think.

He probably means being in the huddle saying "I'll PnR with Moz, then cut inside and kick it out to Kevin" or some shit.
