Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shit aren't you from Toledo? I forget who it was but I believe it was you.

I saw this 2 days ago at the Kroger out on Sylvania/King (across from The Andersons) That is pretty far from campus but I am assuming they are going to be the same price everywhere. Hopefully it goes all week too.

If you aren't from Toledo, sorry b/c this post is useless.

lol im from the cleveland burbs but i've lived in toledo for over 4 years now, useful post is useful.

arguing with redditors who think calories are the devil and that all their skinny friends eat whatever they want and are still skinny, so physics must be wrong and I am a liar. I get trolled pretty easily when people avoid common sense :(

It'll catch up to those who aren't careful. But I will say that if your metabolism is high, which mine appears to be- I don't watch or count calories. Managed to drop weight the last month. Now, I'm not going to continue to eat with "no regard for human life"-- I seem to be in a good spot, but I know that if I don't continue to exercise, I'll gain.

It's funny, I had a friend who thought she could eat whatever and not exercise... she gained, but had the "I want to be thick" mentality, so she thought getting protein powder and loading it with ice cream and any other bad thing was the way to go. NO EXERCISE! Needless to say, her mid section got soft. I tried to tell her, but ultimately, she was going to do what she wanted.

People have their own mindset of what they can and cannot do (myself included). I've obviously hit a miraculous stride, but I know to pay more attention to what I'm eating.

Yay yoga!!!

you're also active as fuck from what I've seen lol, i think thats the key contributor to your "high metabolism"

If by active, you mean half assing workouts at work, then yes.

I haven't done an actual workout in weeks. And it's also all the sex that I'm not having. That's what brownies are for.

Still waiting on my pizza!

haha well i literally sit on a computer for about 14 hours a day and only lift for a total of like 2.5 hours a week.. so i need to eat like a bird to lose weight. such is life of a lazy body builder

the pizza i had last week was so good, Sixpack knows what im talkin about. Vito's Tony Packo pizza!

but then i was out of calories at 2:30pm :(

1823 calories 219g protein today

Back finally feeling ok enough to try and lift tomorrow, here is to hoping I don't completely fuck it up again.

Happy to help, however I can....

First, when most people refer to the 'power' lifts, they are usually talking about the 'slower' big lifts; squats, deadlifts, and overhead/bench press. The Snatch, and Clean & Jerk, are considered to be the main staples of Olympic Weightlifting, aka Oly, WL, etc. Adding to the confusion, is who Olympic Weightlifters usually refer to themselves as 'Weightlifters'....unnecessarily confusing, I know. The best way I have figured out to differentiate between the two types of lifts are FAST (clean, C&J, snatch) and SLOW (squat, press, deadlift).

You mention wanting to learn how to snatch/clean; unfortunately, those are difficult and technical lifts to learn on your own. Not saying it can't be done, only that you might need to find some supplementary coaching, and not just dudes at the gym. Bumper plates (the thick rubber plates that make you able to drop the bar without breaking anything) in a gym are a good sign. I used these demos from Catalyst Athletics as good ones, but they don't have any description.

Spending a little while on youtube, looking at Weightlifters like Donny Shankle, Jon North, Kendrick Farris, Dmitry Klokov, and Pyros Dimas. Local guys include Jared Fleming, Caleb Ward, and Kendrick Farris.

At work we just hired some newb who is into the Olympic lifts. He knows his shit tho. Looks like I am going to start w squats w the bar in front of my head. Forgot the name. But yeah, just get used to that position and keeping the elbows up and the weight hanging off my fingers, then fuck around w the balance as I squat that w light weight. That's a start and I am in no hurry.

I will have to check out some vids when I have the time. Thanks dude!

front squats? :chuckles:

just screwin with ya, hope you like them!

What are they called? Help me out I sound like I am not smarter than a 3rd grader.

Cool yeah thx. Front squats but w diff arm position.

My trick? Whenever you're hungry, substitute junk with cereal (low fat milk). I do this a lot late at night. I've always thrown away white bread for rye/wholemeal. And I'm trying out these 'Lean Cusine' meals (which are surprisingly delish!):

Combine that with sit-ups and a half an hour hoops session and I think I've got a winning combination!

(P.S any health experts out there want to tell me if this is actually effective lol? I've seen results but from a nutritional stand-point, no idea if it's healthy or not).

desperately need to boost my energy. i feel like i need to nap all the time, and then when I try, I cant. so im in exhaustion purgatory all day long. Any suggestions?

I tried walking today.. felt good while doing it, wasnt tired after, starting to drag again and its been a couple hours
