JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love how JR doesn't mess around when he gets the ball and just puts it up but I wouldn't mind seeing him throw a pump fake in there every now and then. Could manufatcture some easy points like that

JR seems so happy to be here, both by his on the court demeanor and his instagram stuff. He's either posting jokes or Cavs stuff, like today:

I had to do a screen shot of it, idk how to embed instagram on RCF anymore :(

JR Smith on page 3? BUMP.

This guy is playing some of the smartest basketball of the entire team. He plays the passing lane very meticulously and uses proper spacing to gauge which ends up in steals. Plural. He had 3 or 4 last night alone playing the lane. He's taking shots provided to him in rhythm and is knocking them down with great efficiency.

He has absolutely bought in and he is, without a doubt, the X factor in the starting line up. He seems completely rejuvenated and I cannot believe this guy spent time in China.

Kudos to LeBron and Blatt for giving him the incentive to play the game the right way. JR is not getting nearly enough credit right now.

Well David Griffin talked about how he is looking for players that actually fits our team. I think it's hard to find sg who would fit Cavs more than Smith.

Honestly stunned at what he has provided this team. I did not expect anything from him and he has absolutely earned his starting spot. Good for him. Good for us.

He only played in China because of the NBA lockout (couldn't return to NBA until end of CBA season because he did not secure an opt-out clause).

It's going to be very very hard to move him to the bench.

He's a very good catch and shoot player and he's getting a ton of wide open looks there. He doesn't bog down the offense and defenses have to respect him
We don't have to worry about him trying to create offense and getting in trouble because he knows he'll get looks with Lebron/Kyrie out there.
He's athletic enough to match up with nearly every SG in the league and if his defense is subpar we can bring in Shumpert.

I wish people would stop calling JR a "throw in". He was far better than just a "throw in", he was the PRICE we paid for Shumpert.

Jr bought in to this team and he is committed to winning, and tonight was a prime example of it, he barely shot the ball and made great passes and his defense was superb. Hes is really shutting all his haters up back in new york thats for sure.

Things i've learned about J.R.

1. His ballhandling and passing = underrated.

2. He's a decisive shooter. He decides, sets, fires. Doesn't mess around. If the shot isn't there he passes and tries to find a better shot offball.

3. He doesn't let misses discourage him.

4. You'd think the way he plays he'd be an undersized guard ala Ben Gordon. Not true. Dude is 6'6" @ 225 pounds with a wingspan close to 7'.

Honestly who needs Ray Allen with what JR has been able to do? There is no reason to think he's going to go back to playing like he was on the Knicks with more PnR and Iso rather then the catch and shooter he's become in Cleveland.

JR is a lot younger, more athletic, better defender (not saying much but Allen was terrible last year), etc.
