Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He has probably been the only shining light of this entire season.

Really hope to keep him around.

Sportal.com.au points out that Delly is the first Cavs player off the bench to score 10 points and dish 10 assists in back to back games since John Morton in 1991.
It is nice to see him getting some stats to compliment is enormous intangible contributions.

I'd love to see how he compares with this past year's draft.

PER for Delly has been consistently a hair below Oladipo and Burke, and consistently above McLemore. Those guys have also had more playing time gift wrapped for them while it seems Delly was supposed to be in Canton all year but managed to outplay Karasev for court time.

Now that Delly has more playing time due to injury, I'm going to be intrigued how he stacks up to Burke.

Really great game for Delly. Doesn't show in the stats, but his defensive aggressiveness was key in some of those late-game stops.

Funny that CG's best "draft pick" wasn't even drafted.

Can anyone GIF his defense on Brandon Jennings on their last possession? He went really hard at Delly for that last shot and it looked like for a moment he was going to lose him but Delly somehow someway persisted and ended up contesting the shot. So huge.

Actually it seemed like Delly was more of Mike Brown's project than Grant.

I have it on really good authority that Z and Trent Redden initially pushed for Delly, then Grant became the biggest Delly pusher to get him that initial guaranteed money. Considering Dellavedova was passed over in a bad draft, that's definitely worth something.

In the end, I feel like Dellavedova is a guy who earned absolutely everything... and there are a metric shit ton of players who could learn a thing or two about persistence and work ethic from him.

I'd agree with you there and this article backs it up. Seems like Z and the international scouts were on him before last year's olympics, and then when Brown got hired he pushed him and got him a roster spot. Wouldn't surprise me if Delly becoming a part of the Cavs only became a reality once Byron was canned. And yes, Brown definitely loved his effort even then. It's impossible to not love the guy. It's clear he's been working on his shot lately.

Might as well make a GIF of the entire 4th quarter. Dellavedova frustrated Jennings the whole quarter, denying him at times and also forcing him into some very difficult shots that missed badly. I think the only time Jennings really got what he wanted was on a fast break assist. On the last shot, Jennings got free for a moment but he was driving to his right (off-hand) and had to slow down and step back to steady his shot, which allowed Dellavedova to get back in the mix. It was a great defensive effort but only one moment of a really impressive and aggressive defensive quarter for him.

Mike Brown had a lot of praise for him again after the ballgame. Basically said he would take Dellavedova on any team he could ever coach.

Delly always works hard on his shot but can be streaky. Last year in the West Coast tourney he shot 1/5 and 0/9 from beyond the arc. He then came out in the first game of the NCAA tourney and shot 5/7 for 3 and shattered Middle Tennessee.

Gold Chainz !!!

When I think of Delly I think of the 91-92 Cavs and then for some odd reason I think of Scott Skiles being on the 91-92 Cavs... Then I think of Mark Price being backed up by Scott Skiles who is backed up by Steve Kerr who is then backed up by Terrell Brandon who is then backed up by Delly.... Then out of nowhere Michael Adams is shooting one handed jumpers from center court as Michael Stanley's: Tonight's the Night is playing in the background all the while Mike Sanders is like: "Yea , Larry Bird, you're gonna retire right here on our court this afternoon you little bitch" while Gary Briggs subsequently tries to put Mike Sanders' face back together... Yea, Fratello, get a good look at this from your NBA on NBC (John Tesh's theme 4 life) color commentator seat-- cause these aren't your Cavs-- and I'm not just talking about Skiles and Michael Adams not being here--- welcome to a world of weird blue seats, Steve Colter, Greg Dreiling and a weird haircut from Michael Cage, when we were all hoping his VO5 hot oil curls would entice Ehlo and Lenny to come back cause they traded Nique to Clipperland for Danny Manning....

Damn you straight to hell, Michael Jordan....and Cliff Levingston..

That's the dark place I go to when I think of Gold Chainz !!!! And I like it....
