Mike Malone Fired (replaced by Corbin)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
True. But I don't think Dan Gilbert is going to fire David Blatt because Blatt doesn't like Gilbert's peewee league strategy of 4 on 5 basketball.
No, but he hired the coach that he recently fired and then promptly fired him again shortly after firing his general manager part way through the season. Gilbert has had accusations of being a meddlesome owner since his start where he was supposedly writing down plays and handing them to Silas. He also has been accused of going over ownership with how to handle our draft picks and making similar demands on wins. See where I'm going here? We aren't exactly in the best position to point and mock.

I find it really funny that everybody is pointing and mocking sacramento and it's owner. Doesn't anybody else see the irony? Dan Gilbert hasn't exactly been Peter Holt, and this organization hasn't been ran exactly tip top up to this point.

What would have happened had LeBron James not been from the local area and thus decided not to come back?

These trade proposals are ludicrous. What motivation does sacramento have to deal cousins right now

I'm not excusing what is going on in here in sac; I just find it funny how fans us fans of the cavs are treating this situation.

Gilbert's is worlds better than vevik. Cousins wasn't even told about the it how do you fire a coach the players love and not tell your franchise player who has trust issues.

Jason Thompson just tweeted
It's a cold world

Imagine how gay/cousins feel they loved malone gay specifically signed an extension because of malone/cousins

This was malone after a loss and having been told to play DWill over casspi.

"I don’t care what anybody says," Malone said after after a Dec. 6 loss to the Orlando Magic, per Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee. "Analytics, whatever you want to call it. I think it’s all B.S. Defense wins in the NBA, and (Saturday) we didn’t defend anybody."

@TyGuy the situations arent very comparable. Sure the Cavs have made more than their fair share of mistakes...but they have done SOME good things. I think that is fair to say.

Sacramento cannot say that. They have been a complete clusterfuck since Webber left. Given their current state, to fire Mike Malone is among the dumbest moves I've seen in awhile.

Oh they aren't? Because I listed some pretty recent examples that makes the Cavs organization look pretty bad.

Gilbet has had his issues for sure, but at least he's proven that he's willing to spend whatever to takes to win a championship. What the hell has anyone in the Sacramento organization proven?

The kings are currently outspending the Spurs (defending champions), Chicago, Portland, and Houston.

Are we really going with the what have you done card? That reeks of lakers and yankees fans with their trump card of how many championships does your organization have? That is great, but how does that invalidate any argument? If we want to go down that road though what have the Cavs organization proven? Yet another strikingly similar situation to be in.

How else do you compare organizations? Right now the Kings are a joke. The Cavs are contenders.
The Cavs have had success in the last 10 years. The Kings have not.

Luck surely plays a part, but it is not the only part.

This isn't about boasting of championships from the 1800s. More of "what have you done for me lately."

Everything I listed about the Cavs organization has happened in the last ten years. Shit, it has been less than a year since we re-hired the guy we previously fired, fired our gm(mid way through the season), and then fired the guy that we just re-hired. Had LeBron not come back this situation would be seen as an equal cluster fuck from outsiders. Lets not get on our high horse and talk about us being contenders when the last 4 years have been an absolute dumpster fire. Never mind that before that (and still to this day) Gilbert was doing the SAME things that Vivek is getting burned here for:

Gilbert passes notes to Paul Silas with what plays he should run --- People here mocking Vivek for making coaching suggestions.
Gilbert fires Mike Brown, fired Scott, re-hires Mike Brown, Fires Grant, fires Mike Brown --- People here mocking the kings for firing Malone

malone is a mediocre coach, but good lord ty corbin is infinitely worse.

nba fans have bashed gilbert a ton over the past half decade - and rightfully so, most of the time. while the letter, for example, reflected really poorly on him it was at least semi understandable. vivek on the other hand has proven to be nothing short of a complete clown. i mean he's legitimately a joke.

i do really want to see the 4v5 nonsense happen and the kings get absolutely demolished, though! so yay to the firing news!

Any coach who calls analytics "BS" deserves to go. You can't win in today's NBA without that being a part of your thought process.

Kings just fired Mike Malone.

I'm thankful that our ownership isn't that short sighted.
Yeah, we just fire our GM's in the middle of the season. We also fire our coaches, re-hire them only to fire them again shortly after. We aren't perched on high enough of a mountain to laugh and mock at other organizations.

Should've moved them to Seattle. The Kings are the biggest joke in the NBA.

Christ, you would think Cleveland fans would have some capacity to relate with Sacramento. Need I bring up the fuckin browns moving? How does that feel?

Did Gilbert sleep with your girlfriend or something? Jesus man.
