Mike Malone Fired (replaced by Corbin)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Absolutely dumbfounding. Keep doing you, Sacramento.

I like how they want to run an uptempo style when their best player and really the only player of value on the roster doesn't exactly fit that style. Also the guy they are replacing Malone with is a slow tempo guy too. Good thought process by the Kings.

*Clearly* they let Golden State's (the only other NoCal team)15-or-whatever win streak get in their head- knee jerk reaction right there- :smh:

Trade for Cousins, Griffin, get it done! :chuckle:

Dion + Haywood + a first

Cousins would help our defense so much if he didn't have to hamstring the whole offense

Man Bill Simmons had a field day on twitter last night with this...but then again, so did most basketball fans.

Ding ding ding...
Before Ranadive headed the group that bought the Kings in May 2013 and kept them from moving to Seattle in the process, he was a minority owner of the Golden State Warriors who decided back then that Malone – who was then an assistant coach under then-Warriors head coach Mark Jackson – would be the coach of the team he was hoping to buy.

Vivek Ranadive had made the extremely unconventional decision to hire his coach before his general manager in the summer of 2013 and in doing so set the stage for the sorts of stylistic disagreements that predictably ensued.

But Malone was widely known to be a defense-first coach, someone who had helped LeBron James make strides on that end during his time as a Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach under Mike Brown and who ran the Warriors' defensive unit when it improved during his time there as well.

Kings just fired Mike Malone.

I'm thankful that our ownership isn't that short sighted.

Wow my grandpa passed away so I was out of it for a day...but what in the world is that firing about? The basically got rid of him because they think the team underperformed in the boogie-less stretch?
I understand this is players league but some times these decisions don't make sense

Please Lord Jesus/Allah/Buddha, let the Kings do a firesale and trade us Cousins.

I don't think there's a single coach in the history of the NBA that could win with Ryan Hollins and Jason Thompson as starters. A hat rack with wheels could play better than they do considering they're both around 7 ft tall.

Sounds like there are other issues here and the Kings were simply looking for a reason to fire him.

Lmao, they want garbage basketball and uptemo? we have the best player DION WAITERS!! Get it down!!

I find it really funny that everybody is pointing and mocking sacramento and it's owner. Doesn't anybody else see the irony? Dan Gilbert hasn't exactly been Peter Holt, and this organization hasn't been ran exactly tip top up to this point.

What would have happened had LeBron James not been from the local area and thus decided not to come back?

These trade proposals are ludicrous. What motivation does sacramento have to deal cousins right now ?

I'm not excusing what is going on in here in sac; I just find it funny how fans us fans of the cavs are treating this situation.

True. But I don't think Dan Gilbert is going to fire David Blatt because Blatt doesn't like Gilbert's peewee league strategy of 4 on 5 basketball.
