Not a good 1st rehab start for Carrasco.

RHP Carlos Carrasco made a rehab start tonight at AA Akron... His line:3.2IP,4H,4 R/ER,3BB,3K... Left trailing 4-1.

I think what's more important is how his elbow felt after the game...

Drew Pomeranz was excellent today: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 8 Ks. Possible problem area for him going forward? Surrendered 4 stolen bases, which is absurd for a lefty. I wonder if he is learning right now how to pitch from the stretch.

Levon Washington playing in his 2nd game of his pro career with LC- so far 1-for-3 with a walk.

Nice. I was waiting for Washington to get into the fight.

Meh, I wouldn't look that much into it. Can't imagine he has a decent catcher down in Kinston with him to help him in the running game.

"Boobie" Gibson, you should follow Tony Lastoria on Twitter. Lots of stuff in this article today but I'll quote the two parts I found most interesting:

Adam Miller performing well out of our bullpen later this season would be a tremendous story.

I followed him on Twitter, and got a re-tweet the very first night :)

Dude has never had Summer Shandy Leinenkugel's? WTF is wrong with him!

You inspired me to take a look here; high SB #s like that are usually a combo of the two. Unfortunately, his catcher for all of his games is Roberto Perez- who is considered to be a big-league caliber defensive catcher with a cannon arm. I took a quick look back at recent games, and over his last 3 games teams have started to run on Pomeranz: 4, 3, and 2 SBs in his last 3 outings with no one caught stealing. In Perez's other outings, he was tossing out about 50% of the runners faced, which is outstanding. In fact, it looks like Pomeranz and Clayton Cook can't hold runners at all- when those two aren't on the mound, Perez throws out almost 66% of would-be base stealers, but when those guys are on, he has thrown out exactly one runner. I wonder what Pomeranz is doing wrong: not looking the runner back, being very deliberate towards the plate, what? As a lefty, he doesn't have to pitch out of the stretch. Again, something to watch going forward- he may just have to be reminded to actually look over to 1B every once in awhile...

As for today's performances: Adam Miller with a scoreless inning, recording a K. Any outing by him is worth noting. Washington went 1-for-4 today; still looking for his first pro XBH. Didn't really see much else of note- Michael Goodnight got bombed, Giovanni Soto pitched well, and Scott Barnes is still a tease. The Columbus offense continues to feast on IL pitching for the 3rd year in a row.

Interesting . . .

TonyIPI (Tony Lastoria)#Indians RHP Zach McAllister w/ another great outing for #Clippers & now won first six appearances of year (6-0): 7.0IP, 5H, 2R/ER, 1BB, 8K

Thank you, Yankees. Maybe McAllister is figuring it out. 23 years old.

Supposedly his velocity has taken an uptick to the low-90s, hitting 95, and he has a slider working now. He might be a find like Jake Westbrook was; very similar pitchers, really.

Wow, "Ezequiel Carrera" is hitting .328 with a .819 OPS and 14 SBs in Columbus. Maybe HE should be up here instead of Austin Kearns.

Phelps isn't far behind, hitting .318 with a much higher .987 OPS, 7 doubles, 5 HRs, and 20 RBIs. And here we go again, maybe HE should be up here instead of Adam Everett. I can understand if they are leaving these players down because they don't want to start them (and have them sit on them bench with no playing time). Phelps can play from 1B to 3B and anywhere in between. If they are holding back for any other reasons, they need to let go of those.

BTW - Carrera is a lefty and Phelps is another switch.

What does our infield project to be in a year or two?

C: Carlos Santana, 1B: Matt LaPorta, 2B: Jason Kipnis/Cord Phelps, SS: Asdrubal Cabrera, 3B: Lonnie Chisenhall? I'm salivating.

LF: Ezequiel Carrera?, CF: Michael Brantley, RF: Choo, DH: Cord Phelps/Jason Kipnis?

K. Done. Sorry.

Aw shoot, one more thing that I wanted to add. Eric Hosmer... HR in his first MLB game in Yankees stadium... and a game winning sac fly.

What can AAA do for you?

You project Ezequiel Carrera starting over Grady Sizemore?

Adam Miller pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief last night in Kinston, with 4 strike outs.
