MKC: With Manziel's upside uncertain, Browns will look at all QB options

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm fairly confident I was driving the Beckham Jr. bandwagon, but that pick wasn't justifiable at 8, IMO.

But he was 4 slots later? I'm confused.

The guy has been an absolute stud and Gilbert is an unmitigated disaster. I guess you mean it was hard to justify it at the time, but still...

Outside the draft who do you want? I would rather give Locker or Bradford a shot over drafting another bum but I don't see anyone wanting to come here over other opportunities as long as Johnny is around

Yes.

God this thread is depressing the fuck out of me. Time to start drinking!!

You should try going through the list of Browns draft picks from the time they came back. You will be gulping the whiskey neat !!!

I doubt it - Our coaching staff gave Hoyer a fair shake, So I expect who ever comes here also to get a fair shake. Also I would like to add Ryan Mallet to the list of people I would not mind given a shot.

Give two bums a shot instead of drafting another bum?

I mean, at least if you draft you know there's a chance...

Yeah, don't worry, we're highly specialized in doing that too.

I mean who would want Bridgewater and Odell Beckham Jr? Fuck that!

I wanted Carr....

Still think he'd be perfect for this offense.

Please trade Manziel. Please just cut bait...

QB's that struggle in their first years don't struggle like he did. They over-throw, get tipped in the secondary for unlucky picks and make the wrong reads.

They don't constantly throw off their back feet, ditch the pocket when their first read isn't there or get tipped constantly at the line.

He's out of a starting job in one year, off the Browns in three and out of the league in 5...MAXIMUM.

I'd take a 4th for him and run at this point.

You'll never get this guy to be able to handle any sort of pocket pressure due to his small stature.

- Marvin Lewis's politically correct version of midget comment

Even if he tidies up his already head scratching mechanics, Johnny has no real grasp of actual quarterbacking due to the poor habits A&M allowed him to develop.

Get this kid out of here while you still can. Even b00b's brother from another mother in Shanny can't save this impending disaster.

I absolutely hate the thought of getting rid of Johnny after 1 year but holy crap does he scare me. I never thought he would be THIS bad.

His mechanics are absolute garbage, he has no field vision or pocket presence and... it's Week 16.

He's had an entire season to prep for this as a backup who should've seen his starting as an inevitability yet he still looks like the guy who got away with BS in college because it's college.

There is no way his work ethic even remotely resembles an NFL QB right now or he'd look at least serviceable given how much time he's had.

Then to watch him take a normal hit and get knocked out of the game RGIII style... man, even if he does pull his head out of his ass and put in the time, he just looks so small and frail.

I wonder if we could actually get a decent asset for him at this point. He looks that bad.

What worries me most are his speed and his mechanics. Just awful mechanics.

His weight placement is awful, he's throwing off of his back foot, and he's scrambling for his life on every play. He throws on the run and has been inaccurate in doing so.

He can't beat anyone to the edge and has thrown one good ball that I've seen thus far...

He had that one throw today that he completed but he ended up knocking himself over by doing so. I couldn't help but shake my head at that play.

I didn't say two I meant one of the two. Two quarterbacks that have been plagued with injuries but when healthy have looked like possible top 10 QB candidates.

I think I have to agree...

And I'll take it one step further: bench him (hide him) for the finale to keep that "mystery" factor alive for trade suitors.

Don't want him to continue to lower his trade value.
