synechdoche, ny is one of my favorites. great movie. watch that and all you see is heroin.

Obvious ones are Lebowski & Boogie Nights, rightfully so. Besides those, favorite PSH films:

1. 25th Hour
2. Doubt
3. Charlie Wilson's War
capote tho

that movie has been on my watch list for awhile, definitely jumped to the top. critics loved it when it was released but it was strangely absent from all the main awards shows.

i like it because its adaptation done right. Kaufman said 'this was a bunch of bullshit. I need to redo this." And stepped up the narcissism even more. This version of Adaptation was poignant, much more layered, executed much better. We're comparing Nic Cage to PSH ultimately.

It's sad to see 25th Hour so underrated in the 8+ articles I've read about PSH's death.

I haven seen Boogie nights, is it a comedy?

My favorite is still his role in Along Came Polly.

I just sharted

what? What's that

I tried to fart and a little shit came out!

I came to make this joke too. Also love when he tries to steal Jesus's part in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Just saw Thor 2. I was pretty blasted at the time, but that movie confused the fuck out of me.

It's been brought up once earlier in the thread, but I'd definitely recommend catching Dallas Buyers Club. I've never thought much about Matthew McConaughey as an actor but he was tremendous in this one. A good story that was well acted. 8.5/10.

I'm going on an Philip Seymour Hoffman Amazon Prime buying spree. I think I may buy Capote. I was going to buy 25th Hour from The Exchange, because it was only 3.99, but I really dislike owning DVD's. I'm opting for just having everything on Amazon, that way f someone wants to "borrow" a movie, I just lend them my log on info, instead of physically giving them a DVD, that I'll never see again.

I'm going to watch Dallas Buyers Club today, but then it's on to PSH for the rest of the weekend. I only own one of his movies (Loving Liza). Going to add more to the list. As always, I'm always open to suggestions.

Just saw Jack Ryan. Give it a 5/10.

Decent starting point for a reboot. Movie moved at a pretty quick pace and did just enough developing Ryan's character. Knightley and Costner were terrible casting decisions, especially Costner.Certainly well behind all non-Affleck Jack Ryan movies.

"Dallas Buyers Club" was great. I had no idea what the movie was about, so it was surprising to me. I tend to like the not knowing. Jared Leto is so fantastic in this. McConaughey has been a splendid surprise, as of late. The physical transformation, the acting, just incredible. I ended up buying the movie.

"Capote" - Truman Capote wrote the novel "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (which I was unaware of. Hoffman was so exquisite in this role. Loved this movie. Too bad Amazon only had the rent option available. 9/10

Just an FYI, check out Infamous; you might like it as well. Different style of direction, and the acting is a bit more... dramatic, but many argue which of the two movies are better than the other.
