Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gour,

Forrest was a gentleman, someone who she knew would never hurt her. Look at her past relationships with men. Forrest represented safety. And that is what she admired and finally wanted. Again, I say it was out of obligation that she married him, she was dying and wanted to have Forrest Jr in his father's life.
You're not going to change my view on her. She was dealt a shit hand, I agree with that, but there was no real love -- I mean deep, so deep that it's visceral, that she can feel him without him having to physically be there. She married him because she was scared of dying alone (settling). I don't think I could ever do that.

She's no different than most American women IMHO....

I don't disagree. There's a reason why I don't like the large majority of female characters in our movies as discussed above. They're represented like they are and they strive to be how they're represented.

Are you stressing American as opposed to other country's women? Where are they better? :chuckles:

Batman: Assault on Arkham. I don't watch to many of these but I enjoyed it. Action was good. A solid 7.5/10.

Saw Boyhood today. 8/10. No real plot, just the kid growing up. Most of us on here are dudes so we could relate to it a lot. Certainly got boring at times ... I can tell this is the type of film people are going to rave about and will call one of the best films ever, but I'll just start with it's one of the better movies of this year for sure.

Also saw Guardians of the Galaxy but really not even worth talking about. Not that it was bad. I'd give it like a 6.5/10, I had fun. Just, I'll forget about it when I wake up tomorrow.

Jigo, see the movie Before Sunrise, and tell me if there's anything cliche and female focused about it.

I could actually sit down and watch plenty of romantic movies, but most are just so damn bad. It's the same with the horror genre too.

Genre overall doesn't mean a thing to me, just give me what's good.

I'll give it a shot.

I'm either seeing Grand Budapest Hotel or Guardians of the Galaxy tonight. Any suggestions?

Heard Guardians of the Galaxy is funny and a real good watch. Haven't seen it yet, just throwing out what I heard.

You'll also have to watch Before Sunset and Before Midnight.

I suppose you don't HAVE to but I would recommend it.

Yeah, all three are good, I think the first two were really good, where the third was still good but not on par with the first two. I don't like that they made a third one for a reason, but I can't say why or I give away spoiler.

It's funny that the writer and director of this movie is the guy that brought us Dazed and Confused.

Richard Linklater has currently completed a 13 year movie that chronicles the life of a boy from 5 to age 18.

I've pretty much decided I'm willing to checkout anything he does at this point. One of the more talented filmmakers few people really know about.

I thought Grand Budapest Hotel was great. If you like anything Wes Anderson does, you'll enjoy it.

It's all right. A couple laugh out loud moments. Super cheesy (as you'd expect) and nonsensical/weak plot basically just an excuse to watch shit blow up and people get beat up. I had fun, there are worse ways to burn a couple hours.

Thing is all this hype about it and people coming out saying they were "blown away" by it and shit has put it on another level.
