School Told to Call Kids ‘Purple Penguins’ Because ‘Boys and Girls’ Is Not Inclusive

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
some boy somewhere is writing on a chalkboard 223 times. " I will not say him" i will not say her"

Catholics will have to goto church and confess " I referred to a lady as she" and the priest will ahe to say "no amount of hail mary's will save you now.

Whoa... how is this the teachers and admin? This is tax payers demanding their community school welcome their needs. The school set no agenda on this.

You're right. The schools are a reflection of what the parents tell them to do unless they want to get sued.

theres alot of literature to be rewritten. but i guess they could just burn all the ones that use her and him

Here's a good project and it could be a great way to build your English skills:

Find us every book that's ever been written without the word "him" or "her" at any point.

This is where I have a problem They are making up words to avoid using the proper pronouns because of gender stereotypes?.
Reinforcing negative or even restricting connotations of him or her is hardly the route to go to promote individualism and freedom of expression.
over time use of these suggested gender neutral expression will build their own association and stereotypes.. will they really be better than the current ones. I definitely don't need some twat (my new gender neutral term) telling me what i think when i see the word he/him or she/her and I certainly dont need someone correcting my children when they use the word exactly as the English language intended it

[Edit: my comment was in poor taste. Nevertheless, reflects my thoughts of the approach. Who is going to standardize what the personal pronouns are going to be? I certainly don't think each person picking their own is sensible. Hell, there could be 50 genders out there. Do we create 50 personal pronouns? I don't think doing away with them either is the way to go.]

I don't see this catching on. Why not just broaden the meaning of he/she and him/her to encompass other genders? Rather than trying to add on more pronouns? That would seem a more viable solution.

Qtip thats the entire point. Gender neutrality and getting rid of sex/gender identity. Too progressive and its the entire country bending over for a very very small amount of people.
BENDING OVER? Way to demonize gay sex!

I thought Dude was gender neutral. bill and ted had it right

Keys, what do your neutral kids check on their Iowa Basics when it says Male or Female? Is there an "other" category now? Or do they abstain?

They don't take Iowa Basics in California, but I would say they don't bubble anything for sex questions.
