The Andre Drummond Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's the part you nitpick? If you want to imply that having Tristan shouldn't have impacted our 2012 #4 pick, then all that does is add to Jack's argument (that it would've been reasonable to draft a guy to fill any of FOUR positions on our team). Plus, the only guy we would've considered as a PF at #4 would be Robinson, and we don't exactly regret not drafting him.

Not sure if you're serious with the Thomas Robinson thing. Only a small minority was considering that move. Had the top 3 picks gone accordingly (which it did), people were ok with Drummond or Barnes.

I brought up Robinson because you brought up TT/the power forward position (which frankly I didn't understand the point of at all).

If Beal/MKG were both off the board, there was little to no consensus on who the Cavs should take at 4. There was plenty of concern about Drummond (was he motivated? did he give a shit about basketball? did he have little to no offensive game? plenty of "experts" talked about red flags and bust potential). And plenty of people were not thrilled about the option of Barnes (although I'd say a number of "experts" thought he would be our pick of the available options).

I was/am a Drummond guy myself, so I'm also not arguing that we shouldn't have taken him. I'm just not hung up on it like some people. And again, I was frankly confused about your post to Jack.

*EDIT* And even if Cavs fans weren't considering Robinson at #4 (but again, it was you that implied that PF wasn't locked down on the Cavs by TT), it was certainly rumored that even Charlotte was considering him with the #2 pick.

Good for this kid. Has really shut-up any doubters...kid is ginna make his first all-star game at age of 20. Just an athletic freak and the scary thing is the amount of growth he still has in him. Detroit got an absolute stud and perennial all-star.

Monroe had 17 rebounds and 18 points, Jennings had 11 assist,

Milwaukee started John Henson and khris middleton. the bucks themselves lost 13 out fo 14.

far cry from yahoos title line "drummond carries the pistons"

So Torn, if we drafted Drummond would you trade him straight up for Dion? You never answered my question. :)

Bruh, I didn't bring up TT.

Drummond was the guy I wanted and he played center. And I'm not sure why bringing up Charlotte in order to make Robinson feel more "wanted" helps your argument.

He has 3 straight games with 18+ rebounds. Kid is gonna be a problem...

I tried to get him to take on a friendly wager and he just ignored it. Dion or Drummond to the all-star game first or any NBA team. Now he's gone so far off the deep end saying Drummond "peaked" when he came into the league lol. If he believes what he's saying, then Drummond would never make an all-star game or any NBA team or be a regular NBA starter for that fact since he was a bench player his rookie year.

What's funny is he is throwing all of his stats all over saying that Drummond is a bum and I just asked if he would trade Andre for Dion and he could not type a three or a two letter word. I probably asked that question to him about 4 times now.

Your entire post was highlighting what Jack said about TT. I'm sorry if inferred that you meant the PF position was also up for grabs. But what the hell else was to be assumed?

Again, I'm not making any argument for Robinson, bruh. I only brought Robinson up because - once again - all you did was point out TT/the power forward position. And Robinson was the only PF available around the Cavs pick, so I pointed out that it's not like we were considering any PF's. But yes, teams ahead of us were.

Not only did you only highlight that part of Jack's entire post, but now you're zoned in on only that part of my entire post (ignoring anything else I said the rest of the post). Nevermind the fact that I said I was/am a Drummond fan myself.

Let's just stop.

Walking highlight reels are naturals to the all star. still not sure what an all star nomination has to do with a 7 game playoff series If drummond isnt getting double digit rebounds he is pretty much useless out there.

Pistons have two guys on the court that can post up and be effective. Thats Josh Smith and Greg Monroe.

Dumars has taken the right steps to build around or cover drummonds weaknesses so he can be effective on the floor. but does it work in playoff basketball.. we wont know for the next five years.

Ultimately the Cavs made the right decision in not drafting Drummond, Thomas Robinson or any other big man from that draft. Waiters was the right call and Waiters dosnt have to be an all star to justify that pick.

Brah, you made long post inferring this and that off of a one liner (well two short one liners)....let's top cause everything that was debated about drafting Drummond is being rehashed again and again. Let's just agree on one thing, CG fucked up the pick by picking the wrong guy.
