The Fire Pat Shurmur Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, he's going to the Dallas Cowboys if they dont get any better this season

Yeah. You're probably right. Did Jon Gruden's son graduate yet, because thats when he said he was going to return to football.

Long overdue.

Can him tomorrow, make Childress the interim.

Still can't believe almost 6 hours after the game ended that he went for it on his own 28 yard line and ran a passing play that had a high level of difficulty. Not only is he not helping the team win games, but he is actually holding back their development. I want Gordon, Weeden and Richardson to get the most out of the last 7 games. Therefore, Haslem needs to make a move now! Do not wait until we get blown out or the end of the year. I compare it to when Gilbrert took over and fired Silas in season, because he wanted to establish the fact that the team would not accept a losing culture. Now is the time for Haslem to make a similar move. I will be very let down if he keeps the status qoue.

For reasons I don't know I googled "Pat Shurmur is an asshole" and this thread came up.

This guy is pretty cocky for being such a loser. I'm not saying I'm just sayin. Kind of cocky for someone who has really done nothing.

Shit, keep him at this point. Let's get that #1 pick.

Shurmur has never shown any accountability for anything. I honestly cannot stand this guy. Just seeing his face or hearing his voice pisses me off. Easily the worst Browns coach we have had since the return. EASILY.

Agreed, Childress knows how to use a talented rookie RB and a strong arm QB (AP and Favre)

Hahaha, no he doesn't. He knows how to use a good RB, yes, but QBs he does not. I said this when you guys hired him, Favre called the plays in the huddle the year the Vikings offense was so good in 09. Keep Childress as far away from your play calling as possible, he is already rubbing off on your 3rd and medium play calls with all these short passes to FBs I keep reading you all complain about. I had to sit through that shit every year he was the Vikings coach.

I'd rather get him out now and give our guys a legit chance to develop and get the 4th-6th pick than continue to let Pat fuck this team and get the 1st.

This is Shurmur's biggest problem. The first step to correcting any behavioral issue is admitting there is a problem. It is clear Shurmur is never going to admit there is a problem. Therefore, we can't expect his coaching to get any better. Why is he going to fix something he doesn't think is broke? He isn't. He is just going to keep dolling out blame and hoping some shit sticks.

From the OBR, posted a few minutes ago, on Jimmy Haslam:

Was very unhappy with the performance of the Browns offense and head coach Pat Shurmur.

Haslam again was rather animated when the offense failed and again on the ill-fated fourth down call in the fourth quarter.

Lets jusf say, someone associated with the organization tells theOBR that Haslam's note that no significant changes would be made right now isn't etched in stone.

I almost never, ever advocate firing a HC midseason, but this guy has earned every damn bit of it. It's the perfect time to get his ass on the next bus outta CLE. You do it tomorrow and don't look back. It gives the team 2 weeks to refocus and get ready for the next game. This guy is a detriment to a winning mentality. His lack of leadership skills, in game decision making, clock management, player utilization, play calling, accountability, and overall general ineptitude has turned this team into a national joke once again. You have CBS studio loudmouths laughing at his pre and post game speeches. You have ESPN blowhards mocking the city and team as some sort of bottom of the shoe sludge barely worth being in the league.

I just saw Chuck Pagano work up a shitload of energy just to give a postgame speech to his team that made me shiver. And I don't even like the Colts. Could Shurmur even imagine doing this? This guy is anti-inspiration. Call me crazy, but that just doesn't seem like a Jimmy Haslem sort of guy. Shurmur has to know he's as good as gone. Put the old dog out of his misery, Mr Haslem, and this town will show you love like you could have never before imagined.

Seriously, I've never hated a coach as much as I hate this guy. He's flat out awful. I'm usually one to give the coach the benefit of the doubt for a while, but I honestly think I could coach this team better than he could. His plays make zero sense. Oh, 4th and 1 in Indy territory and we're running out of clock? Timeout, then punt. Oh, 4th and 2 with 2 timeouts, 3 minutes left, and if we don't convert the Ravens are already in field goal range? Let's throw this bitch.
