Let's hope the Lakers continue to struggle. Looking forward to the first update of post 1. :chuckles:

Dwight and Kobe were back to form, but nash went down. If your best point guard is Steve Blake, you arent going to do well.

Isnt the Lakers pick lotto protected? If not then our tank driver has gone undercover in LA to get us a good pick.

Andre Drummond had a whopping 2 points and 2 rebounds in 13 minutes. I thought he was on fire. Haven't been paying much attention.

Harrison Barnes didn't do all that bad it seems. 6 points, 3 rebs and 1 dime. Played 14 minutes and it seemed (stat wise) like he held his own.

So... That Lakers pick is #1 now, right?

It's lotto protected, but the Lakers aren't missing the playoffs anyways...They will finish in the top 3 in the west

"2013 first round draft pick from L.A. Lakers
Cleveland has the right to swap the least favorable of their own 2013 1st round pick, Miami's own 2013 1st round pick (top-10 protected) and Sacramento's own 2013 1st round pick (top-13 protected) with the L.A. Lakers own 2013 first round pick (top-14 protected). If the L.A. Lakers own 2013 first round pick is #1-#14, then the L.A. Lakers' obligation to Cleveland shall be extinguished. [Cleveland-L.A. Lakers, 3/15/2012]"

If healthy, the Lakers will probably finish top 3 in the west. But it's hard to picture Nash, Kobe, Pau, and Dwight all playing close to 82 games, and the west is pretty deep as always, so I think this pick could be anywhere from 20-22 if injuries really hit hard to 27-29 if they stay almost completely healthy.

How come Grant said when the deal was originally announced that the pick was not lottery protected?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the source you quoted is wrong. I remember last season talking about this with some other members about how Grant or someone from the Cavs FO saying it was unprotected and how the source you quoted it from (realgm?) is wrong. Can anyone confirm this?

Doesnt it seem the whole organization is being assembled so that Lequit is the missing piece.

I recall we got confirmation that it was unprotected, but apparently the sites that report this stuff didn't get the memo - or don't believe it.

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say you are tracking the 2012 draft picks...

Also, I don't think we have to worry whether the pick is lottery protected or not because there is no way on earth that the Lakers miss the playoffs. We could get lucky and see the pick end up around 17-18, but I just don't see anyway the fall out of contention completely.

We need a Mike Brown as the Lakers' tank-driver photoshop for this thread.
