Week 3 (9/17/11) - #17 Ohio St. @ Miami (FL)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But Bauserman has earned the job? No matter what, the qb wasn't going to earn the job, so just play the one guy who actually has talent.

Yes, and his play lost it.

Which is why you'll see Miller much more as the year goes on.

How the hell did he earn it in the first place?

Because he was 'seasoned'...

Same reason we suffered through Justin Zwick and Todd Boekman before we were allowed to start being serious with Troy Smith and Terrelle Pryor. This season should have been a project season for our young guys and Braxton but the decision to put Bauserman in was to limit mistakes and win as many games as Luke can to keep this job.

Urban...grab your lipitor.

Zwick and Smith were the same age...and Smith won the job when he finally grew the fuck up.

Boeckman led this team to a national title game.

God, will you ever stop arguing idiotic positions that no one agrees with. Even the fucking college football analysts disagree with you.

Well, if Mark May and Lou Holtz said it....I mean, it's not like they're talking heads paid to speak to the ideals of the masses.

I know in your world, fans should run everything....but in reality, that's the antitheses of success.

The Akron game was the worst thing that could happen to this team. Play perhaps the worst program in D1 to fool this terrible offensive coaching staff into thinking they could get by with Bauserman and their awful schemes. Part of the reason why I didn't lose any sleep over the Tress dismissal was his antiquated offensive philosophy and the hangers on he kept around to run the show. Hopefully, the new coach next year brings with him some personnel that have moved into the 21st century of playcalling and OSU can finally start utilizing some of the talent they recruit at positions aside from just RB.

Bauserman has always sucked. There is no use wasting any more time on a 25 year old who still doesn't get it. It should be Miller's team from here on out. Let him play through his troubles and get a head start on next year.

Agreed. A few in here want you to believe our best chance to win is with Bauserman. I couldn't disagree with that any more than what I do now. Toledo was a very good clue Bauserman can't handle things. Miami confirmed it. Any defense knows Bauserman can't throw. Can't run. It's not a winning formula.

I don't give a fucks ass that Miller will make mistakes. He's the future. The future is right now. We aren't going to any BCS bowl games and we aren't winning any big ten titles this year so play the kid.

We were told that Miller is more developed than Pryor at this stage. Miller is a better passer. He's even a better runner that can make better decisions. He will only get better with experience. We were also told he and Bauserman were about even in camp. I actually doubt that. I think Fickell counted on Bauserman to not make mistakes, but failed to understand Bauserman won't get you many wins either. Miller is the clear choice to play this season.

Miller had better start the next game. And yes indeed; the better move is to hand the keys over to the Freshman. Absolutely.

All I know is I saw a LOT of WTF moments, and most of them were coaching-related. I don't think the kids were put in winning situations, and looked out of sync and nervous a lot of the time.

Bauserman running the shotgun read-option? THEN KEEPING THE BALL AND RUNNING!? There seemed to be no plan with the qbs, which made them play nervous. It looked to me like Bauserman was so afraid to make a mistake because he knew Miller would be subbed in.

Miller is not ready to play. But, there are two choices IMO, either play the kid or don't. Jerking him around, and taking him out for a few series after an INT to stunt this kids growth, and can damage him going forward.

Within two scores and we leave the game with all three of our timeouts? Ultimate weakness shown on Fickells part.

We literally ran 5 or 6 different plays, and that's being generous.

Like I said, most of the issues to me, are soley on the coaching staff. I saw good effort from the kids, which is at least promising.

For you to constantly criticize any and every head coaching move, then tell us the best move would be to tell your team that "they're not good enough so we're starting this guy," is the single most hypocritical thing I have ever seen.

You're telling me the good coaching move is for the head coach to walk into the room and say "You know what guys, you're not good enough" so we're going to start this guy because of the future.

I mean, taking away the fact Miller is CLEARLY not anymore ready to lead than Bauserman is at this point...it's alarming how hypocritical that is.

People simply believe that if Miller plays, he's going to automatically just adapt and adjust because of his playing time. Conventional wisdom says that playing a kid before he's ready is what RUINS quarterbacks, not develops them.

I'm anxiously awaiting Miller to take that next step, but last night showed he's clearly not there yet.

Can't throw, can't hold on to the ball...You just can't have him keep going out there and doing those things as the full-time guy, it will destroy his confidence.

And as far as Fickell goes, I'll also be anxiously awaiting Urban Meyer/Jon Gruden's arrival and hopefully he'll keep Luke on as his defensive coordinator.

Huh? LOL

No further comment needed.

About the response I expected.

You never fail to meet expectations in that regard.

I'm not going to dim it down for you any further.
