The consensus doesn't matter, just get what you want. They will not, unless it is discontinued, stop making games for xbox. You can bet there won't be any Gears situations this gen though, not after ps4 is 2x the xbox worldwide, which could, and likely will happen this year.

MS tried to fuck their consumers over. Their original plan had absolutely no resale value on physical games, until they backed off of that and decided gamestop would be the only place you could take it to.

Now the customers are saying, we don't need you, I didn't play Halo/Gears/Fable anyways, and I can get my Forza fix literally with any platform.

There is a chart out there that shows how many ps3/360 exclusives there were post 2009 (I believe), and it is absolutely eye opening to not only the quality difference, but the difference in the amount of games.

360 became a kinect Halo/Gears box, ps3 got dozens of fantastic exclusives. Now that Halo has lost it's selling power, MS doesn't have anything to sell their system on.

The big, non decade old exclusive for xbox this year is a cartoon shooter that will top out at 1 million purchases. From the makers of Fuse, and the second Forza in as many years.

But like I said, if you want an xbox get one. It will still have the biggest games, even if they are of lesser technical quality.

It would be nice if under 18 players got xbox's, and over 18 got ps4. That way half of the online complaints would he over. I don't know how mamy times I have been playing a 17+ game, and been talking to an 8 year old.

Edit: I mean Halo lost its staying power. If anyone wants to look it up, a neogaf thread about Halo 4 vs the previous game was done, and it isn't good. No game stays at the top forever, very few can have legs like Mario. I don't think Halo will sell poorly, I am sure that of the 4.5 million or so people that own the xbox, 3m will get Halo, I just question its further selling power. As in how many more people out there that are Halo die hards, and would buy a console for it, are left to sell to. What is the number 1 million, 2, 3, 4? Even if it was 4 million, ps4 would still have the lead world wide.

Mdog going hard in the paint for the PS4 PR team :chuckles:

I literally hate Microsoft. I will never make that secret. I like one game they make, and the last one took a giant dump on my tv screen, so the next Fable is out. If the xb1 was 200 I would get it, play Fable Legends, and maybe pick up a Forza. I certainly would be getting cod on it, but just to play the zombie packs one month earlier, and then play them on ps4 with the people I play with.

It just seems so redundant after the last gen, to own both consoles. 90% or more of the games are going to be on both, and there are maybe 15 exclusives total that I would even play, let alone buy. That is all 3 consoles.

I don't mind Sony, or Nintendo. Neither has made all the right moves, but neither have tried to hurt video games like MS has. It started with Xbox Live, and I honestly have a hard time believing anybody paid for it. But they did, and I supported Sony, and Nintendo (well Zelda games) because they didn't charge, and I was desperate for blu ray at the time. I didn't find out for years that my tv was 720p lol. I was 14 or 15 sue me.

Now with the Wii U being a horrid value proposition for someone like me, I am stuck supporting Sony. I am not happy about the multi player paywall.

I am the perfect consumer for video games. I know that. I just looked at my download list this morning, I own 15 games, 2 of them were ps+ games, so 13 games I downloaded because it is cheaper, and three games I bought physical (AC, 2K, NFS).

By the end of the year I fully expect to own 20 games or more digitally. Like I said perfect consumer.

Edit: and I would like to add, a one console future is best for everyone. Get every game, spend less money. It costs developers less money to make games, the games are made specifically for the one system, so the quality is better. The only downside is that company might go full Microsoft 2013, and we all would be screwed.

So The Last of Us is absurdly amazing.

Also, for as good of a game as The Show is, it has the worst online I've ever experienced for a sports game. Yes, worse than EA Sports titles. Just downright atrocious.

I have a ps4 and if I had the money I would consider buying a xbone just so I could get the Master Chief Collection. God I loved Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer. That said there's no other exclusives out there that interest me on the xbone. Sony has delivered some great exclusive throughout the years, and that should continue on into the future. Seriously Naughty Dog alone has cranked out some of my favorite games ever on the PlayStation, from Crash Bandicoot (my childhood) to the masterpiece that is The Last of Us.

How far have you gotten so far without spoiling anything for me. I've put in about 3 hours already. Shit's scary, clickers are no damn joke. :chuckles:

Oh you're definitely further than me then

Man, first time playing The Last of Us.. why didn't I pick it up on ps3. Amazing so far.

I've almost gotten completely away from EA, but FIFA is just so good.

This is really interesting. I've played every FIFA since '96 and I honestly believe that it is currently in its most futile cycle of it's life so far. From being absolutely addicted to the game for years, it's turned into a farce. In manager mode, I clock up 60% possession and 10+ shots to 0 95% of the time on world-class mode. Then I play legendary mode, and the game transforms into 'superhero cheat mode,' to the point where everything becomes near impossible. Then, when playing online, the game favors those players who lack technical ability, enables player who simply run up and down the wing to cross the ball and score way too consistently. Maybe I've been playing it for too many years, but the game is now so predictable, that I always equate it to a driving test. To pass the test, you don't need to know how to drive, but rather how to pass the driving test. Same rings true for FIFA. You need to know how to manipulate the game, anticipate the mechanics etc. and you'll be all over it.

In comparison, the realism of a game like NBA2K makes FIFA look amateur in the grand world of sporting games. When I play the two now, it makes no sense to endure the fury FIFA generates, when I can have the time of my life playing such a far superior sporting game.

I also feel like, especially here in Australia, playing FIFA is the 'cool' game to play and people fail to legitimately critique the game based on its predecessors and other competiting games.

I'd imagine this is an entirely fair comparison, and I'd never know it because I'm still relatively new to the game of soccer as a whole and strategy behind it.

I didn't start following the sport at a high level until at best 2010.

Absolutely. We pretty much grew up with soccer/football as a second sport coming from an Australian family with a European background so I've always been heavily invested in the sport. Once you get to the point where you've played the game for such a long period of time, I'd imagine you might share some of these views. The problem is though, no matter how 'ridiculous' the game can be sometimes, it's addictive. My younger brother will curse at the television at least 4-5 times per match when playing FIFA, yielding the phrase "this game is a piece of shit" at almost every opportunity. Yet, he somehow can't let it go and will play at least every second day lol.

If you don't mind me asking, do you follow an international club outside the US with the same enthusiasm as when you follow the Cavs?

Definitely not, I enjoy following all of the major leagues but have yet to find a team which even remotely comes close to my fandom for the Cleveland teams I grew up around.

I don't imagine that would ever change either.
