The consensus doesn't matter, just get what you want. They will not, unless it is discontinued, stop making games for xbox. You can bet there won't be any Gears situations this gen though, not after ps4 is 2x the xbox worldwide, which could, and likely will happen this year.
MS tried to fuck their consumers over. Their original plan had absolutely no resale value on physical games, until they backed off of that and decided gamestop would be the only place you could take it to.
Now the customers are saying, we don't need you, I didn't play Halo/Gears/Fable anyways, and I can get my Forza fix literally with any platform.
There is a chart out there that shows how many ps3/360 exclusives there were post 2009 (I believe), and it is absolutely eye opening to not only the quality difference, but the difference in the amount of games.
360 became a kinect Halo/Gears box, ps3 got dozens of fantastic exclusives. Now that Halo has lost it's selling power, MS doesn't have anything to sell their system on.
The big, non decade old exclusive for xbox this year is a cartoon shooter that will top out at 1 million purchases. From the makers of Fuse, and the second Forza in as many years.
But like I said, if you want an xbox get one. It will still have the biggest games, even if they are of lesser technical quality.
It would be nice if under 18 players got xbox's, and over 18 got ps4. That way half of the online complaints would he over. I don't know how mamy times I have been playing a 17+ game, and been talking to an 8 year old.
Edit: I mean Halo lost its staying power. If anyone wants to look it up, a neogaf thread about Halo 4 vs the previous game was done, and it isn't good. No game stays at the top forever, very few can have legs like Mario. I don't think Halo will sell poorly, I am sure that of the 4.5 million or so people that own the xbox, 3m will get Halo, I just question its further selling power. As in how many more people out there that are Halo die hards, and would buy a console for it, are left to sell to. What is the number 1 million, 2, 3, 4? Even if it was 4 million, ps4 would still have the lead world wide.
Mdog going hard in the paint for the PS4 PR team :chuckles:
