Why is he a good owner?
- He realizes what he can and can't do within the system (doesn't try to sign a bunch of free agents to win...instead, stays patient and builds from within)
- He invests in the team and spends money when he thinks it will help the team win (Wood signing, Sizemore/Carmona extensions, 2010 Draft Spending)
- He lets his baseball people make baseball decisions, and doesn't get in the way.
- He leads a classy organization, and assures being a Cleveland Indians fan is something we can be proud of
For the record, I don't think he's great by any means...he's made many mistakes (like just recently realizing the importance of the draft), but I feel like he's a solid owner. Gilbert's the best, but I'd put Dolan over Lerner in a heartbeat.
