No, I'm asked to evaluate the trade and I evaluate it as... bad, on our end. We should have gotten more. What are we to criticize GMs for if not for their skills at acquiring better assets for the team? I already said I'm fine if that was truly the best they could get- fine with them taking it, anyways. NOT fine with what we actually got.

I like the deal, but I feel we could've got better value if we dealt JJ earlier.

Casspi is a decent player, looking forward to seeing him play.

If those teams knew the Cavs had no intention of keeping him then why would they pay out now instead of trying to clear cap space to try to sign him next summer?

I'd guess the Cavs did about as well as could be expected. I still expect them to move Sessions at some point. Would not be surprised to see Gibson dealt. And Jamison will probably be moved during the season (if there is one).

If the Cavs are terrible then they'll be top 5 next year in the draft and could land a big time impact player there.

So how would this be a bad trade for us if Hickson can't help the Kings out of the top 10 worst teams in the league in the next 5 years?

I think people who haven't seen Casspi play will be surprised. He will do fine as the SF getting 30-35 mins. And, if you don't like this trade, ask yourself, if you were a gm of another team (knowing that you know everything about jj that we on rcf knows + more) what would you offer for him right now?

If Hickson is really that much better than Casspi then shouldn't the Kings be good enough in the next couple years for us to end up with their 1st rounder?

Also, anyone hoping or wishing Sacramento would suddenly make the playoffs, have to understand that the Owners are still hoping to relocate the Kings in the next few seasons.

I put the Clippers chances on making the playoffs much higher than Sacto over the next 5 years
