Davos Seaworth is awesome! I love me some Onion Knight. Truth be told, I found him to be somewhat of a replacement for Eddard Stark. Perhaps even Eddard Stark 2.0. Everyone else in the series is so grey, but Davos is as close to "Lawful Good" as you can get, I think, and he isn't nearly as naive or- I daresay- stupid as Eddard was.
You have read all the books, TSS, right? edit: My bad, looks like you said earlier that you are on AFFC.
The series really is a great character study and also just a fascinating story to begin with. Martin sets the world up in a way that there is so much history, backstory, and interwoven plots...I don't know how he keeps track of it all, but it's definitely a world you can get lost in. I have a feeling the last two books are going to be absolutely killer. The story changes so much from AGOT to ADWD, it's crazy. I can't wait to see how he resolves all of the cliffhangers in ADWD.
