I'm ok with a bunch of guys who hit 15-20 HRs. That's how the 2007 team was built so I wouldn't be surprised if that is how the FO thought...

The problem is we don't have a bunch of those guys. We have ACab, Choo, Kipnis, Santana and...um. Duncan? Hafner? Hopefully Chisenhall? Not exactly much on the horizon.

LaPorta not working out just murdered this team. If he was hitting 25-30 HRs in the middle of this order we'd look like a different ballclub.

I'm ok with it too, but we only have a couple of guys like that as you said. Even they aren't locks to do anything, I mean this is Kipnis' first full year.

Like somebody already said...Laporta not turning into the guy we thought when we traded for him...is gona bite us in the ass.
 
It's funny how funny we write off guys like LaPorta. He already has 2 HR's in Columbus.

but given the opportunity at the major league level he has hit worse than Shelly Duncan

his AAA stats don't mean squat

if he keeps it up he will be given a another chance on albeit a shorter rope

He did that last year, too. So did Marte.

I still think he could turn it around - but I've never seen a guy look so inept at trying to hit a breaking ball. It looks like he just guesses. I really want him to pan out, but I don't see it happening.

There is a bigger gap between AAA and the Majors than most realize. Its the reason so many prospects are eventually sent back down before they stick on major league roster.

I like Acta using his bench (as I think Donald / Lopez / Marson should be considered more than just bench guys) - but putting them ALL in the lineup last night was excessive.
 
Cancelled? Was it raining in Cleveland all day today?....Guess we can all watch the tank battle tonight.
