Beer snob thread!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stella is alright I guess. Not really snob worthy.

I have a question for you beer nuts. Can the taste of a beer be significantly affected based on the distance from where that beer is brewed?

For example, in some European bars Heineken was not shit, but in the US, it is shit. Paradox.

It is not so much the distance, but rather if it comes from the tap or is bottled. I can't tell you how many times a beer has tasted different on tap as compared to a bottle. As for Heineken, green bottles do not prevent as much UV light as brown bottles which makes it more likely they will taste "skunky."

Heineken is the most overrated beer. People think they are cool or distinguished when they drink it since it is from Europe. However, it is horrible.

Some beers get better with age, some get worse. Shipping also exposes the beer to a bunch of temperature changes, light, etc. Heineken, being in stupid green bottles, definitely doesn't like light.

Could also be a different "recipe" for the USA Heiny.

Yeah it often seemed to be on tap.

In case anyone on here digs Rogue beer (Oregonian craft), they have spirits out now.

Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey and Chatoe Single Malt are actually made using the same wort of the Dead Guy Ale and Chatoe Rogue beers. Pricey, but worthwhile; the Single Malt more so than DGW.

Well I absolutely cannot recommend this Mons Abbey Dubbel. Feels like a real imposter. Never ran into a Belgian I didn't like before, but this just tastes like a malt beverage mixed with sparkling grape juice. Yuck.

Too bad I have to finish it tonight...

'Heineken? Fuck that shIt! PABST BLUE RIBBON'

Had to say it.

Would rather spend 50c/beer on PBR than whatever premium Heiny commands, real talk.

For me its generally either all out, or just buy cheap shit. When I want good beer I'll buy actual good beer...when I just want to get drunk, ain't nothin wrong with Natty Light.

I like my hard ciders. Angry Orchard has been my favorite since May. I recommend trying the Crisp Apple.

Sorry I was distracted by the Natty hate.

Never had it but I do love me a Tripel. I'll look out for it.
