I wonder what, if any package might persuade Sacramento to trade us the #7 pick?

Some combination of 19, 31, Zeller, their own future pick back to them. All of those?

I hate trading down, no guarentee our guy will be there.

If we want Len, take him at 1 and be done with it. Not worth the risk.

But his possible upside, given his significantly higher FG%, better freshman year

Camby actually shot the ball. The vast majority of Noel's FG attempts were dunks! Not the same thing. Before the injuries Camby was a freakish athlete as well. I'm not even a Camby fan, just saying I have seen nothing to indicate that Noel will ever be anything more than a pogo stick.

I agree. I would only trade down if there are 2+ players who I would be happy with getting. I am not trading down if there is just one guy I really want.

In this scenario the trade isn't made until the team with the lower pick selects your guy.

I really don't think Gortat alone is worth the drop from #1 to #5.

What happens if Noel, Len, Porter and Oladipo are all gone?

That would be a disaster IMO, if the Cavs owned the #1 pick and didn't come out of this draft with one of those players and the reason was Marcin Gortat.

This would have to be a post pick trade, that's why I find it weird it is leaking.

Trades like these don't get out pre draft, if there's even a 10% chance they happen. Both teams have too much to lose.

I'm still trying to re-gather myself after hearing that garbage trade offer by OKC. Who the fuck would ever want Perkins and some shitty picks anyways?

How about this Presti: You give us Perkins so we can incinerate him for you and pay that monster salary and you just give us #12? How about that for some cock-slap offer?

You're obviously just not a Noel fan, but can you at least admit that there is a chance that Noel is physically capable of being a better NBA player than Camby?

There are so many factors at hand here, that's why I think it's ridiculous to put a ceiling on such a good prospect. Not saying he will, but he has the tools to be a transcendent defensive player and he's already better offensively than people give him credit for.

Yeah I will be there as well . You want to start a lets go Cavs chant when we are on the board?

I'll be there as well. First time going and I'm pretty excited. I'll be in the cheap seats but I'll be screaming. Plus, it's Stern's last draft so I made it just in time to boo him off the stage for the final time.

Dunks, tips, and bunnies count just as much as 12 footers. Camby was not, either in college or the pros, a reliable finisher at the rim. That's an important skill for a big man who is going to down low grabbing offensive boards. And that shooting percentage was actually worse his senior year.

Before the injuries Camby was a freakish athlete as well. I'm not even a Camby fan, just saying I have seen nothing to indicate that Noel will ever be anything more than a pogo stick.

Camby didn't have Noel's quickness even before his injuries in the pros. At least, not to my eyes. But look, if the point is "well, Camby never reached his offensive potential because of those injuries that sapped his quickness", then that's part of the whole debate on Noel's upside. If he doesn't have those same injuries, then maybe he becomes what Camby might have become had he not suffered those injuries.

Again, the point isn't "this is what I think Noel will be". The point was "what is his potential upside", and given that he's no less physically gifted than Camby was (and I do think he's got better/quicker hand, and is somewhat ambidextrous), his potential upside should be higher than Camby's. His downside, obviously, is being worse than Camby.

There is always a chance, sure. My thing is this is a guy who survives on athleticism alone. He has no basketball skills whatsoever, so hoping that he develops some is exactly that, hope. There is nothing to base it on currently. You state that he is further along offensively than he is given credit for but every report I've seen and all the video seems to indicate that he is Desagana Diop-raw. From my perspective the guy has bust written all over him. Here's to hoping he proves me wrong, because if the Cavs keep the pick that seems to be where they're headed. (Hoping Len at #1 is just a smokescreen)

Hard to take you seriously when you just blatantly lie like that. I feel like you've never actually watched Noel play.

Only if you don't count blocks and steals as basketball skills. Noel is elite in both areas, and both historically translate particularly well to the NBA...
