Who is this girl?

Google search by image(cool feature) says AnnaSophia Robb. I saw her in that Bridge to Terabithia movie back in 07. Never imagined she'd develop an ass like that.

What? What?

Did you just make a Sisqo reference?

She is cold.... Jesus...

Elysium. 9 out of 10. Social commentary is a bit too on the nose but I was highly entertained throughout. Very entertaining movie.

Dammit. Just passed that up and watched Don Jon instead and it's pretty fucking stupid so far.

I saw Don Jon in the theater with the girlfriend. It's a fun date movie, but I couldn't see myself watching it otherwise.

Yeah it was interesting, just odd. Seemed like they got the basis of a guy who loves porn and just reached for a plot. Never really had a conclusion either.

Also, watched Prisoners last night. Haven't seen a review in here, may have missed it. Really really great movie, I loved the way they ended it. 9.5/10 and only because it seemed a little long. Definitely recommend it though. My girlfriend was really pissed about the ending but I thought it was genius.

Elysium had some of the coolest sci-fi weaponry I've seen. They tried to whack you over the head with a baseball bat with the social aspects of the plot (all poor people on Earth are spanish-speaking mexicans, all rich people on elysium are french-speaking, tea-party-hosting caucasians) but as a sci-fi action movie it was great. The exo-skeleton technology is actually being tested by the US army as we speak. Solid 8/10.

About Don Jon, without going into spoilers I just felt like the way they dealt with his porn addiction was unrealistic. I'd give it a 5/10 or so, nothing special for me.

Hadn't watched Godfather trilogy since '08 so I did it again last night.

I don't know whether people just forget this is the case because they get distracted by the great acting and cinematography, but the plot to II is rather jumbled and the conclusions leapt to by Michael re: the plot against him are not explained well before he takes action against those involved with the plot.

The movie would have been FAR better served by staying in sequence chronologically as well. I see no reason why it couldn't have started in Italy, continued in NYC and immediately focused on Vito's gradual development as Don Fanucci's more fair, less slimy replacement. Then from there it could have moved to Michael. At that point, no more confusing and sudden switches back to Italy would have been necessary.

Far more confusing than the switched to Italy, were the Michael timeline/location switches between Lake Tahoe, Miami, Cuba and the congressional hearings.

I think Coppola may have been tempted by the desire to be original and thus got hung up on the idea of developing some fluidity between the development of Vito to Michael's rise to power and I thought the fluidity of the actual plot itself suffered for it.

The Kay character is not developed at all so when she brings the kids to DC and tells Michael she's leaving him, it mostly comes out of nowhere. There were no blowout fights between the love interests like you saw in Goodfellas or Casino. It was just...Shooting at the house, Michael in Miami, Michael in Cuba, Vito in NYC, Vito in Italy, the hearings in DC...then BAM...Kay wants out. I thought their relationship was just poorly developed and that part of the plot was distracting for that reason.

Didn't read most of that Jig just in case of spoilers. Is the Godfather trilogy a must see? Never seen any of them.

I've seen the first 2. Got very confused on part 2, but that was years ago. I've always planned to revisit those films. I know most people said part 3 was absolutely horrendous. But I couldn't tell you, because I've never seen it.

Of course. See them.

Watching III later today. I've never heard it's horrendous. Just that it doesn't stand up to the other two. I usually hear that it's under-rated. More later once I've seen it.
