Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sometime I just shake my head after reading this board. So if TT has a bad game then he his ceiling is a role player. TT has a good game, he got lucky or just hot.

If you take the time to look at the whole body of work, I would have to say TT has come a long way since his rookie year. If, big if, but if he can continue to improve his jumper, then I think he a has a high celling, not All Star, but board-line. With is hustle and energy, if he can develop even an Andy level jumper, it will open up his whole game.

Wow, that was a shockingly bad game for TT. He turned back the clock and that's not a good thing for a 23 year old. Looked like a rookie who should've stayed in school.

The game he had the other nite was horrible.. he was trying way too hard, stumbling, tripping and falling over himself.
He has been clumsy the last several games.

Although he's made some strides, I just don't see this kind of stuff on a regular basis.

He definitely has come a long way.

Still doesn't change the fact that we have another PF on this team who has the potential to be 2x the player TT is. Bennett needs minutes to develop and he won't get the time he needs with TT on this team.

So you want to roll the dice on someone who has miraculously switched shooting hands and ignore the elephant in the room that is Anthony Bennett who have the potential to be one of the top shooting bigs in the league?

Is letting a player finish his rookie contract before deciding to move on him really "rolling the dice?"

Considering the season he just had, isn't it more of a gamble to assume AB is going to reach that vast potential?

Lol, yeah ok, let's make a policy of deciding on what to do with a player by letting them all play out their rookie contract. SMDH. We already have 3 seasons to evaluate TT where he started virtually all his games and played starters minutes. After he switched shooting hands, you guys like to say give him time to develop that jumper. I mean, wtf, we're gonna roll back the clock and erase the 2 seasons prior and treat this as his rookie year again and give him 2 or 3 more years to develop that amazing jumper of his to where he is average when we already have a guy that has the potential to be better than average at hitting a jumper?

I'd rather gamble on Bennett developing at this point than bank my future on TT. That's just me. You can throw away a couple more years in TT and hope he develop that jumper that can rival Udonis Haslem.

Are you trying to advocate smart teams move young players before their rookie deals end? Because that's a very Kings-like thing to do, I don't see any smart teams dying to sell low on their young lottery talents.

Tristan played 23 minutes a night as a rookie with a little less than half of that at center. Not exactly 'starters minutes.'

We've got a full year before we have to make the decision between the two, can't we see AB look halfway competent before we put all our eggs in his basket?

Smart teams wouldn't draft Tristan Thompson at 4

Yeah smart teams drafted Derrick Williams #2 and Jan Vesely at #6.

On a similar level, smart posters don't call a player a D-Leaguer before they go out and have a career best game.

So you think the T'Wolves and Wizards are two smart teams?

Smart teams draft a player like Steph Curry and play to his strengths. They find gems in the 2nd round like Draymond Green. They draft players who have an elite skill like Klay Thompson has at shooting. They acquire great veteran players at the right time to make a playoff push like Bogut. They spend money to get the players to put them over the hump like Iggy. They also know how to find the right coach for their best player. You know a former PG with 15 years experience playing in the league.

Oh and the T'Wolves have the longest playoff drought in the league and opted to pay Rubio before Kevin Love. Smart move?

Or how about the Wizards who are still paying Gilbert Arenas 20 mil per. So smart right?

For people defending Thompson...

What's the difference between Thompson and a guy like Kris Humphries?

Or Reggie Evans? Been saying that from previous posts and there seems to be no difference among these types of players. I would be more comfortable with TT starting for our team if he at least has the explosiveness of Ed Davis or some sweet mid range shooting of Darrel Arthur.

Do you know what sarcasm is Los? Do you honestly think I was complimenting those teams for wasting their picks?

Defense. Guys like Humphries and JJ Hickson put up solid numbers but gave that all back with lazy, clueless defense. TT is already a better defensive player, at a younger age, than those 2 will ever be.

TT is a hard worker but I am not sure if he is the best option for cleveland. We don't know what a player he will be at the age of 25-26 but do you want to wait and hope if he can be a future starter?
I have no clue but he will never sign a role player contract so he has to start. This offseason is huge. Maybe we can get an important piece. If so we should ship him anywhere and hope the best for him because he is a great guy. As much as I like him, I can't believe that he can develop to a core player.
