The Rock.... :chuckles:

Fucking terrible.

Blasphemy. It's one of the best action movies ever made.

Not every movie has to be 12 Years a Slave. We're allowed to have some fucking fun from time to time.

wow megan fox looks like she's cgi as well. step away from the plastic surgeon jesus.

definitely not seeing that in theaters, and will probably only bother with watching it at all if it gets really good reviews. not optimistic though.

I want to go on record to say that Tim Burton's Batman was FUCKING AWESOME.

Saying you are a fan of Michael Bay, is like admitting you like the Black Keys.

Is anyone really a fan of Michael Bay? I think he made one awesome action move (The Rock), a couple of watchable action movies, and a bunch of shitty action movies. I would say The Rock is arguably a top five action movie of all time, behind Terminator 2, Die Hard, and Aliens. It's in that 4-6 area with True Lies and Face/Off. It also does everything you could possibly ask of action movie. It has perfect actors for all the key roles, fantastic one-liners, great set pieces (the gunfight in the shower room is brilliant), a couple of great villains, and an awesome plot for an action flick (breaking IN to Alcatraz). As an action movie, there is literally nothing wrong with it. And it passes the re-watch test. I can re-watch it basically whenever I want and I still enjoy it. Only a couple of other great action movies pass that test, and they're all in my top five to ten.

Seriously...fuck anyone who says The Rock is bad. You're a horrible person and you should feel bad. :chuckles:

Went back and watched The Rock, it really is not a good movie. Entertaining action I guess. And a sweet main theme. But shit some of the dialogue and acting was cringe worthy. I feel like we've argued about this before though....

I've seen T2 more times than I care to admit. Same with Aliens. I suppose they had some of the same complaints about them. But I love them. The opening scene with the humans fighting SkyNet in T2 still blew my mind in how badass it looked and that was like 4 weeks ago when I watched it.

Fucking 12 Years a Slave. I liked it but I will say I was bored to tears during about 50% of it. VERY well acted and I see why everybody thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, I just don't really agree.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I think it basically does everything you can ask an action movie to do. It can be cheesy at times, but so can basically every great action movie. We all love Commando for its cheese, and Commando is nowhere near as good overall as The Rock.

I do agree that T2 is a much better film, though. Terminator 2 is, in my opinion, the greatest action movie ever made. There's never a time when I watch it and am bored. It's a brilliant film. Die Hard may have been more influential for the genre, but T2 is just a better movie, and the special effects still hold up surprisingly well today.

And you'll note I had The Rock behind both T2 and Aliens. I don't think it's as good as either, or as good as Die Hard. I think it's in the next tier, which also includes Face/Off (probably the most re-watchable action movie ever) and True Lies.

Admit it, you bitches liked Edward Scissorhands too.

I dug it.

His Batman was sweet too

As was Beatlejuice

Cabinboy anyone?

Big Fish

Pee Wee's big adventure

I hate everything he's done with Depp, but he's had some hits in there.

Michael Bay

I guess Bad Boys and the Rock. Maybe, neither of those stack up to some of the movies Burton has done.

Burton is better than Bay.

Just watched the Adam Sandler movie That's my Boy.

I was stoned, laughed a lot.

True Lies was so good. It's like that dark horse action movie that nobody I ever talk to has seen yet is easily one of my favorites. Lots of laughs, too.

Never seen Face/Off.

I loved Face/Off when it first came out. Watching it now, it lost a bit of what I thought I loved about it. Still one of Nic Cage's better performances. I had a ferret that I named "Castor Troy". He was a biter.

Just Watched "Snowpiercer" 7 out of 10

Not sure if it has been talked about but it has quite a few stars with Chris Evans being the lead. It is the English movie debut of famous Korean director of Bong Joon-Ho.

Short Synopsis: In the near future, an experiment to counteract global warming causes an ice age that kills nearly all life on Earth. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the 'Snowpiercer', a massive train, powered by a perpetual-motion engine, that travels on a globe-spanning track. A class system is installed, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the tail.

The movie is very interesting and pretty violent. Has the political undertones like all movies seem to have these days, but it was interesting to watch. Had some flaws but it was a movie I stumbled up and was surprised by it.

crazy 90's.. sylvester stallone, arnold schwarz etc.. weird action heroes. dont understand why action movies were so popular. maybe im looking through a filter bc its all my dad made us watch.

i thought michael bay had megan fox blackballed?

also, i thought the tmnt thing looked cool until the face. CGI fucking sucks and should not be used.

Bad Words 7.5/10. Just a little too corny for me, but otherwise good.
