Just cant imagine Will Smith as Neo. Glad Will turned that down.

Keanu Reeves isn't a good fit for anything. He is a terrible actor and I just do not understand how he gets work.

I like The Matrix a lot and appreciate that it was ground-breaking, but it doesn't hit with me like the great 80-90s mindless, macho Arnold style action flicks do.

Not sure if Gravity is a pure action movie, but it blew my mind in much the same way Matrix seems to have with you guys.

Well, it wasn't a mindless macho action style flick at all, so if that is what blows your mind then no, the Matrix would not have.

Honestly, I saw it once when it came out and I was maybe 11 years old and didn't understand a goddam thing. I saw it again a couple years later and thought the story was original, well-done (nothing is totally original now days, so please, spare me some book from the 1960s that had some semblance of a similar plot as the Matrix) with some absolutely absurd action sequences and gun battles. The industry needs more movies like that. It's so rare that I see a movie and am blown away by it. I haven't seen Gravity yet. Really don't have a lot of interest in it, might have been worth seeing in iMax or something but I'm sure its impressive nature will be lost on a 48" screen in my basement.

I wouldn't put it on par with The Matrix, but Inception definitely was up there in the, "Woah," feeling when I left the theater. I know some people will probably take issue with that statement, as always.

I have really high hopes for Nolan's Interstellar, somewhat hampered by finding out its actually about corn....but still hopeful.

Neo was pretty low on emotion, which Keanu embodies. But his movement was fluid, unlike Uma in Kill Bill. Keanu was a convincing Neo/martial artist.

looking back, some of the first matrix is pretty questionable too. "..I know kung fu.." so fuckng stupid.

Captain America - Winter Soldier. 9/10

Walked into the theater thinking... man is this gonna suck. But as soon as the movie came on, I remembered -- hey, the first one was great, maybe this will be too.

Couldn't have been more surprised.. It's phenomenal.. Absolutely loved it. Must see!

One thing I like about the Cap movies is that they've got him down exactly as he is in the comics. The World's Greatest Fighting Man. Doesn't matter if you are stronger, or faster, or have claws, he will beat your ass.

I really can't point to a single flaw in the movie, other than the director forgot that Cap's shield is supposed to absorb all force due to Stark remaking it with Vibranium. This is how Cap can fight Hulk and Thor and not just die instantly. If they punch or hit the shield, he can take it fine (he can also pick up the hammer, because his heart is fucking pure... dude's a beast). So it inconsistently works throughout the film, which will break the suspense for a moment (for anyone with a scientific mind) because of just how inconsistent they are with his powers.

But as far as the movie goes.. It couldn't really have been much better. They don't really prep you for it in the trailer; and that's a good thing. Nothing is spoiled, so I won't spoil shit, because the entire movie is a rollercoaster.

Just know that the movie is awesome, and the post-credits Avengers 2 tie-in is definitely worth waiting for.. Cannot wait for that shit.... Going to be ridiculous. I just wish Marvel could some how settle this mutant thing with Fox so they can stop fucking up certain characters that will not be named. But maybe they'll do a cameo like they did with Wolverine? Dunno.. we'll see..

This is easily one of my favorite Marvel movies so far.. Having a hard time thinking of one that's much better, but I'll wait til the new movie feel wears off.

Not completely true. He was perfect for Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure which, i think is an amazing comedy.

Keanu was also amazing in Point Break! Not only does it feature "The Swayz" but, it also has some fine acting chops by the one and only Gary Beusy!

I dont care what anyone says, Johnny Utah was one of the greatest Ohio Sate QBs EVER.

Yeah people say Keanu is emotionless which makes him a good fit for characters who are emotionless. I just say he's so emotionless that he ruins the characters. He could be explaining relativity and he'd still sound like a dummy.

Chris, macho action flicks don't blow my mind. They're just mindless entertainment. Matrix was mind-blowing, just not my personal favorite.

Casino was on last night. Forgot how awesome that movie is.

Also, anyone else seen these VICE documentaries? I got HBO when I switched to Fios and so far I've seen two. One was about where our money is being spent in Afghanistan, and last night there was one on about the underworld of the metal scrapping business. A lot of the filming took place on the East side of Cleveland. Pretty cazy, well done documentaries.

Watch the one about the cannibal war lords in Africa. Holy shit.

There's a 3rd Bill and Ted in the works...

:chuckles:

"Yes way, Ted!"

I'd give it a solid 8/10, and I know a lot of my friends like the 2 Thors over the 2 Captain America films, but I never liked either Thor film. It just comes off as really hokey, not a fan of those at all.

There's also great documentaries on drugs (Scopolamine in particular is the scariest thing ever) and they had a really good series about the war in Syria. Pretty much all around great quality documentaries on just about anything.

I've watched some.

Jesus...

Puts shit in perspective when we complain about our (not human) steak being too well-done at a high end restaurant or complain about hitting a certain tax bracket.
