If he stops the "AYEEE" and "AND ONE" shouts at least by 50% next year, that might work. And speaking of that, how's it been for the last month or 2?

I don't think the AYE and AND ONE shouts are that bad, to be honest. I'm Dion's biggest supporter, but the thing that makes me cringe is after the play...when jogging back on defense he's always yelling at the officials with a visibly annoyed, disrespectful look on his face. Maybe that's just his face, but he needs to contain it. It has never and will never work in his favor. He needs to shrug it off and continue to play, and I think the refs will appreciate that.

The AYE and AND ONE shouts aren't the biggest issue here...it's the fact that Dion seems to want to make it clear to the refs that he does not respect their judgement.

He does need to stop the whining. Love him amd im glad he doesnt let missed calls affect his play but thats annoying to hear even as a big fan.

You know that feel when you bust on someone on 2K with a player people don't really know or think is terrible and they're like, "He can't do that" or "He's not this good."

And you just insist...

And then stretches like this happen.

Just a nice feeling.

My concern is that if he gets the reputation of a referee-baiter it'll be tough to live it down. Rasheed Wallace got that reputation and couldn't catch a break from the officials for nearly his entire career. I'm not saying Dion is as bad as Sheed ever was, but still- the officials are human and humans have a tendency to carry grudges.

As long as Dion continues to play hard and make plays and not worry about things he can't control he'll be fine.

The AYEEEEEEEEEE!!!! doesn't bother me like the "AND ONE" does. Think of it sorta like a calling card. The latter, brutal.

What Dion needs to do is learn all the refs' names and develop a rapport with them. When the refs like you, they respect you. And when the refs respect you, they give you the benefit of the doubt.

o yea

I'm eating a double crow hoagie. I'd still take Drummond, just because players that big shouldn't be so naturally athletic.
That being said, the way Dion's been playing and his laid back demeanor is showing me a side of D that I didn't think we'd get to see in Cleveland. I thought he'd be exiled out of town before he figured it all out. Not that he's figured it all out, but he's definitely growing before our eyes. His alone time was all he needed IMO. And plus we know he's always been dying to be a starter, that's important to him.

I'm surprised Kyrie is being so accepting as well.I walked out of my friends house the day we drafted Dion Waiters. I always knew he had talent, but he was emotionally fragile, the low man on the totem compared to Ky, and he was always bitching his way off the court.

This is the new Dion, and I'm excited about what we have here. The jumper is absolutely key, because he'll always be able to burn people off the dribble.

The only two things Dion needs to do in order for me to love Dion the player:

1. Stay consistent with the jumper, don't force bad shots, there's plenty of good shots to take.
2. Find a way to finish at the basket, then we'd be unstoppable. Both Dion and Ky can shoot the rock, both can get to the rim at will, Kyrie is a deft finisher, Dion is still a work in progress.

You BET Kyrie has been accepting after he saw the latest player line-up stats! The very same stats the moved Cavs up in the power rankings this week. CHeck this out

I. http://www.nba.com/powerrankings
20 Cleveland (30-45)
Pace: 95.4 (19), OffRtg: 100.5 (24), DefRtg: 104.9 (20), NetRtg: -4.4 (24)
The Cavs have won four of their last five (without Kyrie Irving) to put themselves in the picture for that last playoff spot in the East. Matthew Dellavedova isn't Irving, but he's been running the offense pretty well. The Cavs are a plus-10.5 per 100 possessions in 625 minutes with Dellavedova and Dion Waiters on the floor together, a mark that's much better than any of their other guard combinations.
This week: @ ORL, @ ATL, vs. CHA

II. Player Line-Up Stats http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/i/irvinky01/lineups/2014/
First Let's do Kyrie's Line-ups and compare.

Best Player Line-ups with Kyrie Next Best w/o Andy, Miles (injury)
5 man Clark, Miles, TT, Andy, Kyrie +8pts Deng, Jack, TT, Zeller, Kyrie +7pts
3 man Kyrie, Miles, Andy +10pts Deng, Kyrie, Jack or TT +3.5pts
*Combo Kyrie, Dion, Andy +8pts
Best 2 man Kyrie, Miles +4 ptsEveryone Else NEGATIVES

****Dion's Best Player Line-ups. Kyrie's jaw dropped on Dion's stats LoL http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/waitedi01/lineups/2014/*********

Best Player Line-ups with DionNext Best w/o Miles, Andy (injury)
5 man Kyrie, Miles, TT, Andy, Dion +34pts Deng, Kyrie, TT, Zeller, Dion -3.9 not good
5 man Dion, Jack, Andy, Zeller, Delly +34
3 man Dion, Andy, Delly +22ptsDelly, Jack, Dion +17pts
2 man Dion, Delly +11 pts n/a

[NOTE: The 5 man rotation of Dion, Kyrie, Miles, TT, Andy+34 was not listed in Kyrie Best 5 man Line -up from the website.

Yes evidence does support them playing together not denying that. But it's very clear that Dion doesn't need Kyrie to get these kind of impressive numbers either. So Yeah.. You're damn right Kyrie is accepting!! He better be on board with Dion as his wing man. Dion can help Kyrie take his game to a completely higher level especially with the player line-up stats. Dion ain't no one's the little kid brother anymore, son... LoL

Dion reminds me of the youngest brother in a family that ends up being the biggest of them so he starts to immediately fight everyone because he thinks he is the biggest kid in the world. The NBA is a lot of bigger kids, but when he learns to carve his niche and to flow in the offense(something he has done great lately for the record) then that untapped potential can be realized.

P.S. Dion is a big f**** dude an he is only gonna get better so the future is looking really bright with him.

WHo is he exactly immediately fighting?? Are you referring to his team mates or opponents?

Clear as mud. To tear down Kyrie, you claim his best 5 man rotation is - Clark, Miles, TT, Andy, Kyrie for +8pts.
Then to build up Dion you claim his best 5 man rotation is Kyrie, Miles, TT, Andy, Dion for +34pts. Ummm, that lineup includes KYRIE. Why isn't that lineup also Kyrie's best lineup??? :chuckles:

Yea I was going to say....

5 man Kyrie, Miles, TT, Andy, Dion +34pts has both listed so clearly its best for both of them...

It's also clear that Dion and Delly need to play together as much as possible. Good things happen when they share the court.
