Well no, I wouldn't label anyone with a moniker which I think is bullshit and completely sensationalized.
I don't believe in fairy tales anymore, I believe that Romo and Eli Manning are elite athletes. Their mannerisms and leadership traits are most often judged by people who don't even see their mannerisms and leadership traits.
It's often misjudged, it's often sensationalized and it's because of those things which makes it such a poor metric for projecting talent.
So would you not have said that Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell were elite athletes? Russell could throw the ball 60 yards from his knees. Jeff George had a cannon. Where do you make the distinction of 'elite athlete' then? Because there are plenty of guys who have all the tools but don't have it upstairs, one way or another.
