A Closer Look at Joel Embiid's Injured Foot

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

To add to that I am sure national media or other teams are not taking notice of the "Joe Lulls, Amicos" types tweets. The Cavs ever since Grant left no one seems to know anything... I think Grant was a little lose with knowledge. Unless Woj who I only actually trust the most with factual Information I am not going to lose sleep over these tweets.

Disagree. Dion Waiters and Anthony Bennett were objectively big surprises from a media perspective.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

You think Grant was a little loose with knowledge? Seriously? No one ever knew what the fuck we were doing with Grant in charge.

Sorry I meant people like Lloyd and others seemed more connected to Grant. I should have worded that better.

Organizations always have their "mouth piece" beat writers who they use to leak knowledge they want to leak. Grant had Lloyd. Griffin has The Bullshit Whisperer and Lull. No one has Finnan.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Could be wanting teams like Philly to offer more for #1 as well... they could pry #10 away from them .. then flip that for a veteran possibly to help immediately.. personally I hope they just take Embiid and be done with it..

True, as I stated I think there was more Inside Info on the team with Grant In charge but the Drafts yeah those were always Interesting to say the least :chuckles:

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

The Cleveland Cavaliers were "blown away" by Joel Embiid's workout last week, according to sources.

Two separate sources indicated after the workout that Embiid is now the strong favorite to be drafted by the Cavaliers.

There have been reports, however, about the possibility that Embiid's physical showed multiple red flags.

Wondering....Has Embiid worked out for anyone else yet or rumors he has?

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

I think with Joel, the key is making sure you don't grind him into the ground. Lots of kids get growing pains growing up, now imagine if your frame stretched to 7-1. You need to become a man and grow into that body. Strength training is absolutely key, as is balance work, and making sure the hips to leg connection is functioning optimally. I just think he's probably so under developed in terms of eating a professional diet, having professional trainers to stretch him out, massages, you name it. Once his lifestyle changes over to that; FUCKK..... That's gonna be one hell of an athlete.

Greg Oden definitely had mass, I want to say he was about 280-290 when he was drafted. He didn't have the elasticity that Embiid has. You can just see that Joel's bio mechanics are sound, there's no plodding, it's all very gracious and smooth. That's why I'm not too worried. You just got to be diligent about managing his minutes. As the bones get older and solidify, and he does further strength training it will help with bone density; he'll be fine, his body will adapt.

You can't go 2011-2012 Tyler Zeller though and grind the kid into a frickin pulp. (that was by necessity).

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

To all those who are on the fence about Joel Embiid and the center position consider this:

His jump shot might be the best part about him, when it's all said and done.

This jumper of his has a Kevin Durant like quality to it. It is un-fucking-blockable. Yes UN-Blockable, and he's showing remarkable touch. The touch is there, if you can't see it, then that's on you; it's there.

Imagine when he understands how to set picks, how to hand the ball off to Kyrie Irving behind his back for the jumper. When he learns how to ball fake people, how to hit the Tim Duncan bank-shot.....

He's got that soft touch that Ilgauskas had from 15-18 ft. You can just see it, remember nobody was blocking that 7-3 shot of Z's either.

I can just see it now, give him 2-3 years and his jumper is going to be automatic. Then when you consider the length, the footwork, the athleticism, the skill in piecing together post-combos, defending the weak side, if not blocking; altering a fuck-ton of shots. This guy is just unreal.

You can see how he really uses all of his height to score near the basket. It's not just the "nerf hoop dunks" that he's throwing down, it's because he's using his length (to his advantage) around the basket. That is why he's going to be immediately somewhat effective. His talent, and frame is just a fucking presence out there; there's no other way to put it.

Then you see these post-dribble combos, inside pivots, sweeping hooks across the lane. What else does the guy need to do, come over and mow your lawn?

He's right there, he's right in front of our face, he's there for the taking. You can't possibly over think yourself and fuck this up. I admit if still feels surreal; but if Willy Wonka offers you the golden ticket you just grab that bitch and run with it!
